thank you very much, well if i buy the parts separately.. (as control board may be the hardest to find) and rejoin it myself will i save $? cables i can find out how to do, fan i can place some recycled fan and... heatsinks i can do them myself... so... if i ever happen to find a cheap S5 control board can i make my own DiY Ant S5?

thank you very much
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Only chip? No PSU? No refrigeration? on: May 08, 2017, 03:22:21 PM
http://www.ebay.com/itm/antminer-S5-557Gh-s-miner-Fitting-30-chip-PCB-28-NM-bitcoin-asic-miner-SHA256-/122441240803?hash=item1c821110e3:g:zSYAAOSw03lY7LSy

Its an Antminer S5 PCB

When you buy this its clear that you need a power supply right? And a refrigeration system. Also, which cables are the ones to choose and it goes onto which PC port?? USB? USB3? PCI? Mini PCI for laptop? If it doesnt come with cables, refrigeration nor PSU... how to do it yourself?

bamboylee, that means if the restrictions come to mexico in two modes A) they find you mining they search you on your house to pay taxes B) bitcoin excanges go forbidden then would happen that C) bitcoin would increase its value in my country? like.. as its forbidden, giving a bitcoin in my city would cost its real balance and an extra risk fee?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hypotetical and curious on: May 03, 2017, 03:24:10 PM
So it was basically the institutions and governnants corruption which lead to the crash, which gave breeding to bitcoin concept to born?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Just hypotetical and curious on: May 03, 2017, 02:58:10 PM
Well, dont make fun out of me please i will try to explain myself but im really confused because im newbie. Back in the day i was a html geek 15 years ago when i was 13, and that was a lot for my age but left pc world and im back to understanding things again from scratch im noob

About the past:
Well if im not wrong internet has become noticeable at 80's and went to popular in 90's... but since these processors were advanced enough, why bitcoin idea came until 2000? Wasnt it the right time to appear, even as a draft project in 1990? And start creating the first bitcoins at least crypted with cpu units of this time?

About the future:
Well did some govermnts shut down bitcoin already? What if all gvrmnts do it? Do we have to buy and shot to orbit our own satelite? Do we have to start developing an alternate underground internet web? Beyond the sewers? Between the trees and under the bridges? At our own building heights? So central pirate or clandestine servers and antennas of each city can be conected to internet users shelters? This is just hypotetical... I know im talking too far but... what if?
7  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Decred not mining on: May 02, 2017, 11:56:11 PM
Hello I already managed i guess lowering the intensity to values around 1-3 to mining without computer shutting down. Somehow my GPU is running decred algorythm but the terminal keeps closing and re opening and even the CPU is making much profit than it.

Messages like... extranonce change requested, difficulty changed to 2, 3, 4, etc sometimes it says "interrupted" do you know whats maybe happening? at the NiceHash main window it goes suddenly from 0 MH to 2.000 MHs and apruptly back to 0... any idea around?

So.. is CPU/GPU mining an altcoin currency? I didnt know... I will take your advice then Haggs to check Geckoscience 2pac

Thank you Golku i will search a guide to underclocking and undervolting

You know whats actually out of line, GT, is that Haggs avoiding my advice about "im just testing" and saying its futile because i said i know it was futile  but i asked very different things to if it was futile or not, i wanted to know miner-hardware related stuff, not efficiently-mining-related stuff
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Tried modding extralaunch parametters still overheat shutting down on: May 02, 2017, 08:53:26 PM
1; i know it is a waste of time but i want to learn for further ocasions
2; 3 days ago i started mining with CPU/GPU (i know its futile save any comment about it im just testing for learning) so DONT go out of topic like Haggs did please
3; ive search on internet about whats the problem (nicehash miner) and ive been linked to a guide sugesting "lowering the intensity" but it doesnt explain at all how to "lower the intensity"
4; in miner settings  there is no "intensity" value, only "minimum idle, minimum restart, minimum fixed, minimum amd, minimum dynamic, api bind port, miner api query interval, ethminer block height, profitability treshold, dag load mode", "benchmark time limits" which one of those is intensity value?
5.- I went to miner folder, configs folder, opened all "json" files with notepad, lowered all "xintensity" and "intensity" values and still overheated and shut down.

can anyone tell me how to super lower the miner intensity please?

This post wasnt about altcoins and it was moved from Mining Support to altcoins NO i am asking about BTC not altcoins

Ok thank you very much so will this stop overheating the laptop? Since they will be USB units and not the CPU?
Why do they say i am killing my laptop, isnt the overheat shutdown a security measure not to burn it? Does that mean that if i continue will i burn it? I am really curious about if shutdown measure is secure or not...
Even if it wasnt, would there be a way to make the algorithms or math operations run slower no matter if i had to risk efficiency? (I know i am not going to mining with laptop but i want to know if that would be possible)
Cgminer and nicehash have to be attended example 10 hours or they can be left automatically working for several hours?

I think my questions are proper, my moods arent but they were only against haggs not to the community
14  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Overheating Shutting down issues on: May 02, 2017, 05:42:59 AM
Anyone else who want to actually help me with my ignorance?
15  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Overheating Shutting down issues on: May 02, 2017, 12:39:26 AM
Haggs, I didnt ask you to solve my questions if you're way too busy. I didn't ask you if its a waste of time and if you havent read, you piece of jerktroll, Im not going to use laptop im going to buy better equipment but I asked 4 things that are much different to if i care if it is or isnt a waste of time because if you didnt read you piece of trollcrap as I said: I AM JUST TESTING SO I CAN LEARN THE BASICS YOU PRETENCIOUS COCKSUCKER

So if you didnt read well I pretty much asked
1: Are all mining units forced?
2: Is there a way to set afk option?
3: How can the laptop die if the shutdown emergency measure is supposed to prevent high temperatures?
4: How do I lower the intensity no matter if operations have to run slower?

I DONT SEE MYSELF ASKING IF IT IS OR NOT A WASTE OF TIME, INSTEAD, AND IF YOU DONT HAVE TIME THEN GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY TOPIC YOU PIECE OF FUCKFACE

Also you are acting like if I were going to be forever using laptop and its not worth to answer me because im going to use laptop anyways which I specified that im onto buying better stuff so if youre so egocentrycal then leave the hell out of my wasting time questions, if i ask something is because i have the interest and interest is something that no matter if conditions are optimal or not it has to be satisfied to whoever haves it

Also if I have not a wide enough equipment i heard i can still mining altcoins which require less power am i wrong you pretencious godlike boy?
16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Overheating Shutting down issues on: May 01, 2017, 01:27:23 PM
I know that mining BTC with CPU/Single not even dedicated GPU is stupid but i just wanted to try and succeed getting started the nicehash mining software.

1 So you're telling me that mining software forces the processing units whatever they are? I know this is useless but i want to get familiarized with it and to succeed leaving running the nicehash miner allover the night in the meanwhile I sleep...
2 Will i have to be changing the pools manually and to stay awake or does miner has an "AFK" option?
3 Isnt the overheating shutdown measure a security door not to burn my laptop? No matter what I do if I continue to mining even if I succeed at leaving miner working for 8 hours this will burn my laptop anyways?
4 Isnt there a way to leave the miner software running and set the intensity to lower no matter if the math operations run slow?

*Optional to read: I know what happened, I recently did another newbie post and its not your fault to havent read it as you're not obligated to do so. What i had to explain and I did at the other post is that im a real newcommer, and will come to buying mining equipment later, by yearly or monthly little investments until I become a higher truck, but in the meanwhile I just wanted to prepare and set to ready the mining software and getting familiarized onto it. (Which I already succeed) surprisingly the BTC wallet was free to do, they arent asking me for a minimal paypal investment or so... and it was a hard duty to realize how to set the reward address.

Philip is this your signature? I mine alt coins with https://simplemining.net I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions. Or is this forum's propaganda?

Im mining with nicehash, something which happens to me is when i open games, even low weight ones if i dont set min framerate it overheats and shuts down. (Using AMD vaio laptop with integrated Radeon, works at least for low graphic requiring games similar to WoW, not capable to run higher ones like EVE/BF) Same happens with Nicehashminer, but here's no framespersecond measurement

4 Isnt there a way to leave the miner software running and set the intensity to lower no matter if the math operations run slow?

So ive searched in forum and inernet and they say to reduce intensity/performance to 30% aprox.
But in the settings I find different values that could be the intensity, but could also not be. So before I created a new topic i searched at forum and found nothing this is why i ask:

switch minimum AMD was 90. is this the one to reduce?
switch minimun fixed was90 also.

"Fixed mine of minimal time in seconds before miner switches algorythm" message info says at ? icon, so i guess it is not the efficiency/performance values since it is related to the intervals of time the miner switches algorythms? If i understood well?

minimal idle, minimal restart delay, minimum dynamic, api bind port pool start, switch profitability threshold, ethminer default block height, miner api query interval (is at 5 but doesnt explain 5 what...) are another values that i dont seem to understand. Miner info ? icons briefly explain this, but can anyone link me to a guide for better understanding and wider explaining about this please?

Thank you in advance

I pasted the strange numbers and letters and i could start mining after benchmark was created.. so... it says rate is 0.something mBTC/day thank you
19  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help with stratum address on: May 01, 2017, 06:51:19 AM
And how do I know the address where i want the reward? instead of stratum..

It's your wallet address. Not the address of the pool server. Have you created a wallet?

Yes i recently did at coinbase.com and the only info i have is a number similar to: 18RajJZbqArbC5n6d8Z6xxxxxxxx

Do i have to paste that as the address ? or how do i get the wallet's address?
