21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold $NXT in your account and get free $IGNIS on: June 09, 2017, 08:47:09 AM
I also hold some NXT in an exchange.
Any recommended wallet?
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [PTOY] Patientory Healthcare on the Blockchain on: June 08, 2017, 06:44:33 PM
Any updates on PTOY on exchanges?
No, the audit report of the ICO must be out first then you can trade on exchange, I can see you are a newbie, the IOU token price is still relatively okay, you may look into it before the price spike
IcoBazzar's price is 1ETH=100PTOY - went up from 1ETH=500PTOY 3 days ago
HitBTC's price is trending around 32k sat per PTOY - went up from 25k sat 3 days ago

I'm wondering whether to buy now, or wait for Bittrex in the hope of a dump.
Any suggestions?
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you backup wallet.dat? on: June 08, 2017, 06:30:06 PM
You only need to bacup once. Or if you create new receiving address inside the same wallet.
Thanks  Smiley

Periodically (once a week/month/quarter)?
After change in wallet content?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hardware Wallet for altcoins? on: June 07, 2017, 09:57:40 AM
So, in the last couple of months I have spread my portfolio to about 20 different tokens.
I am now looking for a hardware wallet to better secure them.
From what I read so far, the Ledger Nano S looks as the preferred choice, mostly for its support for multiple tokens (as opposed to Trezor's BTC only).
Seeing it's on backorder till late July, I was wondering if there are any other recommended hardware wallets?
Also, as my intention is to hodl for 5-10 years, should I consider using paper wallets, instead?
Any other security tips will be much appreciated.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [PTOY] Patientory Healthcare on the Blockchain on: June 06, 2017, 04:52:06 PM
I missed the ICO, but did purchase some PTOY via HitBTC and ICO Bazzar.
Am also looking forward to Bittrex's listing in the hope of getting some more, cheaper than the current price.

Upon release of PTOY, to which wallet will I be able to withdraw?
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [PTOY] Patientory Healthcare on the Blockchain on: June 05, 2017, 03:27:23 PM
For those who have missed the ICO, what are the options and time-frame for buying in?

they will be listed on bittrex after7 day of the final distribution. This is not an official communication is only my opinion, as is not my first ico.

Now they are doing the crypto audit and then they will unlock the contract with the token.

these guys are smart, fast and professional, just wait.

Thanks for the kind words and for helping out with sharing information. We definitely appreciate it.

More information on the crowd sale results, the exchanges, and how to see PTOY in MyEtherWallet can be found here: /patientoryblogwedidit]http://[Suspicious link removed]/patientoryblogwedidit

At your service,
Michael

Sorry if it's a noob question, or one that's been answered ITT... I noticed that the total supply is 100m PTY and 70m were sold in the crowdsale.
Does that mean that 30m are still to be distributed/sold, or will the trading in the exchanges be done via third party sellers only?

I'm very disappointed to have missed the ICO, by just a few hours...
I'm a bit familiar with ITs in hospitals, and was looking into developing a (medical) CRM and ERP solution about a year ago.

I think Patientory is a great idea that will be able to solve real problems in data management.
Will definitely watch this space.

30  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken response time is disgraceful and reprehensible on: May 28, 2017, 04:28:44 PM
The person who's made all the Kraken threads that I've seen is here, but he hasn't been active in a long time.

No exchange is 100% reliable and safe when the price goes up very quickly - Coinbase has had similar issues/complaints recently.

If I were you I'd move to Bitstamp.  As Bitcoin exchanges go, they're pretty reliable.

I already have an account with polo, bittrex, coinbase and bitsamp. I'll take your advise and focus my action with them.
Cheers

Hello @Dargo
I contacted support about a deposit being on hold for 4 days.
Long story here:

Requests #305702 and 306118.

Thanks in advance for you assistance.

32  Economy / Exchanges / Kraken response time is disgraceful and reprehensible on: May 28, 2017, 10:31:45 AM
Is there any official Kraken employee in this forum?
Why are they taking so long to respond to emails from their paying clients?
Why are they freezing my funds without making any contact to explain the reasons?

I've been on Kraken's T2 for nearly 2 months, trading within the Tier's limits.
I've made 6 deposits with no issues, however, the 7th deposit has been put on hold for no apparent reason.
Although I did not exceed T2's limits, I immediately applied for T3 verification.
I also sent them 2 emails (through their online "support" system).

As of now, it has been more than 4 days since the money has been put on hold in my Kraken account.
No one has replied my messages to their "support" centre.

I'm not saying they are after my money, but when they are effectively denying access to my own funds, without any reason and on top of that fail to make contact/reply for almost a week since - it is beyond frustrating.

Not to mention that yesterday was a perfect day to buy. And due to Kraken's pi$$ poor service, I missed a really nice opportunity.

From your experience, how should I adjust my expectations?
How long until they reply?
How long until they release my funds?

I understand that the number of transactions has spiked recently, but for an exchange that's practically printing money 24/7 with ease, they should at least increase their manpower to deal with the high volume of traders.

As soon as I'm done with my recent deposit, I'm done with Kraken forever.
33  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: KraKen [SCAMMER] on: May 28, 2017, 10:06:01 AM
I wouldn't call them scammers, atm, I simply rate them very unprofessional, and their customer service extremely poor.

Shame on you Kraken.

Sorry for the newbie question
Will there be wallets that will hold WGR, or will the only option be to hold WGR in Bittrex/Polo?
I am asking as I do not do sports-betting, but I think this will be a successful project, and looking to cash on WGR appreciation over time.
Thanks

Thanks again Dave for a professional and trustworthy service. I highly recommend his services to anyone in need.
36  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Verifying Private Key Backup on: May 09, 2017, 12:24:26 PM
Any guide?
I can't work it out.
How do I create a QR containing my 12-word Private Key?
I tried bitaddress.org and brainwallet.io but both QR codes don't work (The private key does not match any of your Bitcoin addresses).

Also, using the clipboard doesn't seem to work either - it's greyed out.

What am I doing wrong?
Do I need to separate words with anything other than <space>?

thanks

The 12 words are NOT the private key. They are a SEED based on what certain wallets can re-create your private key(s).
You can read more about this by searching on the internet for Brainwallet (or try https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Brainwallet).

The private key is a longer string which is really hard to memorize.

Cheesy thanks! I get it now...

is there a way to verify the 12-word seed, other than installing mycelium on another device and restoring?

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Locked out of Litecoin wallet - did NOT forget passphrase on: May 01, 2017, 08:41:21 AM
Any update?

I'm starting to accept that the coins are lost (even though I can see them).
I sent the 2 wallet backups to a friend who will try to do better than me, perhaps de-compile the wallets with the hope of picking up something.
But, as I now gather, to solve my problem (with the wallet) will practically require the same efforts as to crack an encrypted wallet - which should be impossible.

My friend recommended I make contact with someone from the LTC's dev team. Any chance one of them hanging around here?
Thanks

Dude, that sucks. Sorry for your loss (that sounds like someone died, but you know what I mean). Can't help with more than empty expressions of condolence, I'm afraid.

Thanks. Appreciated.

Sorry for your loss, is it a lot? If it is a lot, try it again in the future when you have good luck. Next time write down the password if you don't use the familiar one.

Thanks. Luckily it's not a big amount, 50 LTCs, but it's still super-annoying (especially seeing it's value go up since i made the purchases). And I actually have the password written down, it's just that the wallet.dat got corrupted somehow.

With the other backup (the one with the coins) - the passphrase is incorrect (code -14)

Did you try dumpprivkey even without unlocking the wallet? Did you try with caps lock on? Did you try to change keyboard layout (DE/FR/EN) in case you use such layouts?
I'm out of ideas Sad ...

I did, to no avail...
However, I just found in my backup folder a file named: litecoin-wallet-keys-2017-04-09-011837.dat
Any chance this could help?
