This year we have seen hundreds of new ICOs flood the market.
White papers & Road Maps for the project are being created. Investors are then pumping in millions of USD for their tokens due to the hype and greed.
Alot of these ICOs are teams of a few developers. How much money do they need to get started? Previously such company's would start of with several thousands worth of investment.
If the company was a good project and had the passion to succeed it would make it. A high percentage would of course fail.
A lot of these ICOs will not deliver on their promises. The road map goals will not be met.
QRL is one recent example. Development goals were not met and one of the developers left the company dumping a lot of coins on Bittrex.
When more and more projects fail to meet goals the bubble will pop.
the US gov will be going after non-compliant ICOs, exchanges that list them, and people who buy and sell them soon. they already put out a warning. the clock is ticking... |

ETH is a perfect buy at the current low prices. Metropolis coming soon. Ethereum will gradually grow and scale. A switch to PoS will occur. By 2020, Ethereum technology will begin to become deeply embedded in the web. Decentralised organisations will emerge. The abusive and not seldom fraudulent ICO funding phase will end. New communities, rather than more pointless coins, are now emerging. Time to create!

If Bitcoin stabilizes after Aug 1, you will see the rise again.

ETH is even worse than ripple IMHO
It has a much better usage than ripple and is trying to innovate on something that bitcoin doesn't offer. It's a technological fantasy without usecases I hate to say this but the future looks bleak. Its another bloody day for crypto currency. Ethereum is down it $190. And there is a fake Vitalik going on around and scamming people so beware. This maybe contributed to the price really going hard right now. Although I exited a few weeks ago, I still have some stash and I think I will hold it for now and just hoping that the price can really pick up again in the future. it will get MUCH worse and i doubt ever better |

I think this is normal, no need to panic like everyone else. The market is just correcting and will begin to pump again. Most likely after August 1st we will begin to see some changes.
stop deluding yourself, nothing normal about shit coin growth. these coins are going back into the dumper where they crawled out from. |

The rise was very rapid. A very rapid decline now. Hopefully will settle soon.
alt coins are worthless, they are pure speculation. to keep dreaming about a return to ridiculous highs is insanity. but then again, the alt coiners tears will fuel the next bitcoin bullrun. dream on suckers!    |

bitcoin will survive no matter what is thrown at it as along as people still believe it is better than fiat
as long as the miners activate segwit before aug 1st there will be NO chain split eminent
a chain split could occur later this year if there is a contentious hard fork
