U may wanna change your title to something like "Reward (20k) for filming an anonymous video of mining farm".
I thought someone got shot by a gun before I clicked thread lol

...

If all goes well, u can test a unit in march right?

Phil, why not u just pay them for one unit first and get that one unit shipped asap and tested before u pay them for the other 4. This is still not a sure thing. There are those that say they could have been in innosilicon factory. That would explain the vid because there were no other DM stickers on the other DM units that are wrapped in plastic. There were DM stickers only for the units on show. There is a chance that they did get into innosilicon factory as others say....and maybe placed the stickers there.
CK never saw or tested the units. He helped them remotely only. This is not a 100% either.

483  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 23, 2018, 12:31:11 PM
Whats the tactic here?

Dear Bitmain customers,

Thank you very much for your purchase of our March batch 3 of L3+. This email is to inform you that we will be sending you coupons with a value of USD140/- for each unit you have purchased. The coupons will be released within 3-5 business days and can be applied to new purchases of S9, L3+ and V9. Thank you for your continuous support and we look forward to receiving your orders soon.

Best regards,

The Bitmain team

The tactic is that they are being nice since they lowered the current batch of L3+ price.  This way, u buy at the same price as the current L3 Batch. I got a coupon for an miner I bought at higher price some time back too. They didnt have to do this.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.6: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: February 17, 2018, 07:00:54 PM
Currently running 2.7a on two rigs - 1xNividia and 1x AMD without a single crash. 64hours nonstop and running very well.

Speed is better and stale shares lower than Claymore. So far very good.

Keep up the good work guys!

How much faster are we talking about?
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: February 17, 2018, 04:26:05 PM
fluctuations due to connected and then disconnected miners by Bitmain... same was in Jan...
another thing - there is a big decline in hashrate on 20:00 GMT: 11.4 > 8.7 Ph and then back to 11.6....
second hashboard on my miner went xxx at this time, but recovered soon...
what was that i wonder?

today we got 2 falls of hashrate..
1) Sia developers are testing soft fork
2) there is a bug in current algo

is the softfork about the exclusion of the antminer a3?

I really do not believe they will hurt themselves by killing bitmain miners on the network lol

U never know if that will occur but u know wat, at least this time u guys broke even by mining with the A3. This is not like the D3. Bitmain sold it at 2k+ for first batch and u guys broke even. It is now still making over 1k a month after all the difficulty increases, so, u guys got a sweet deal. Congrats.
486  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150+ PH] SlushPool (slushpool.com); World's First Mining Pool on: February 17, 2018, 03:52:06 PM
Ok, so I have a setup of 40 miners with 3 other associates...

We have agreed upon taking out the profit twice a month

But as it seems, you cannot send a specific amount to a BTC address, rather than just send the whole balance after it crosses the payout...

Can this be done? I am saying this because I would not like to pay the txfees (I know they are kinda low, but whatever you can save, its better)

Not sure what exchange you use, but I use quadriga CX, and they don't charge a fee for withdrawing BTC from their wallet. So I send their and then can forward it accordingly after I decide what to sell/hold
I get what you say, but this does not say anything about my original question... Is there a way to withdraw a specific amount of balance in Slush's pool?

Why not just set the payout ratio to a very high number, say like 3 btc. And when u wanna withdraw, u set it to a the amount of your balance. It will then withdraw on next payout yes.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: February 17, 2018, 09:08:04 AM
What part of "parameters don't stay constant do you guys not get?"

When I bought them at 10000 USD, profitability/miner was about 260000 USD

One month later, difficulty increase, and profitability/miner was about 60000 USD

Ages later, once innosilicon had enough mining with my miners and sent them to me, difficulty increase, and profitability/miner was about 6000 USD

Innosilicon had also a few surprises for me (hashboards burn) some miners not working etc. etc.

Today, you can see the profitablity yourself

BITMAIN are now flooding the S9 just like they did with the D3 cuz the new Halong miner will ship soon

ASIC is destroyed

Ethereum will switch to POS

GPU Destroyed

Save yourselves and buy godamn crypto and let the ASIC producers lose money and be left holding worthless hardware for once

Can't say no one warned you guys  Wink

I mention similar things a few times before. Pls do your own due dilligence before u guys purchase.

Juz look at mining difficulty. It was 0.1 in jan and 1.4 in december. From dec to  feb, it moved from 1.4 to 2.8. Yes, it increased by more than 11 months worth of difficulty in just 2 months.

For dash, it has become unprofitable for D3 miners. Some plug it out and difficulty went down. It will go back up as dash price increases. So, bare that in mind too and do your own due dilligence.
488  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Antminer S9 - solid green light No ip on: February 17, 2018, 07:18:43 AM
Have u tried changing different ethernet cable? That worked for myself and others. I was using a ugreen right angled cable ethernet that just was not good. In my case, it showed 2 out of 3 chains only. Changing to a good cable showed all 3.
489  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Which European country best for Bitcoin mining? on: February 17, 2018, 03:48:36 AM
Hello Geeks

I need your feedback and opinion on below mentioned scenario:-

I am planning to setup a IT Company with focus on cryptocurrency and plan to do below mentioned activity:-

1. Setup my own small mining farm (like 10 to 20 miners)
2. Start a Cloud mining venture like Genesis Mining and sell out Cloud Mining contracts by leasing my miners.
3. Other IT activities.

Factors to consider while choosing a destination are:-

1. Low tax rate
2. Crypto friendly environment
3. Preferably low electricity costs
4. Muslim friendly country where veil & Hijab is allowed.
5. Easy immigration for Startup Entrepreneurs

Thank you.  Smiley

I think u should also take note of security, rental/property cost and weather. There are rig mining thefts occuring, in malaysia for example. Also, at this point in time, difficulty is rising so fast that holding bitcoin is more profitable than mining bitcoin. U should at least hold an equal amount of bitcoin. This thing is kinda easy to do that I wont really call it being entrepreneur.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Starting to mine in Austin Texas on: February 17, 2018, 03:21:56 AM
Hi!

I have just started to mine and found lots of useful posts in here. However i think i have maybe outgrown my capacity. I have 10 rigs in my small one bedroom apartment and I have the AC turned on 24/7 even in a 65 degree weather... I have tried grow tent, standing AC, negative pressure, but in vain. Anyone has any tips? Also the summer in Texas gets pretty hot too... Any experience on how i can deal with that weather? Thank! Greatly appreciated!

Mojominer

How did u deal with the noise and heat? AC isnt a good idea. U should go for alot of fans for airflow.

That's what i am having issues with atm. I am using two ~400 inline fans to suck to air out from my grow tent. However I think that it's not enough for the 7 6gpu rigs i have in there.

Hopefully I sleep pretty dead and once i close my bedroom door, it's not as bad.

U should do somethin about the noise. Over may hours or days, it could drive u psychologically nuts if u keep enduring it. It is not healthy to endure this 24/7 at home.

Wat u need is stronger fans and maybe some high density rockwool to block the noise so it does not harm your health. Well, GPU noise isnt so bad compared to asics. So, sound wise, u may be ok.
Consider underclocking the gpu if it gets too bad. Besides air-con, there is nothing much u can do. However I dont think adding more air-conditioners are worth it. It may be better to just underclock in summer.
491  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: February 17, 2018, 03:12:39 AM

I personally think this was an advertising method and if you look at the thread  it has lots of info and post and interest.

What in the what? No, just no.

In no sense of the matter does it make any sense to be unreachable, and provide zero information, zero product for review, zero viable photos/video for the public. It is just careless and foolish to be so shit at marketing, no matter the product.

The Chinese aren't "innovative" in any fashion, they just steal from everyone else since intellectual property doesn't exist there.

It is not marketing. 2 months ago, everyone was buying asics as numbers were good and now, no one is buying. U can get asics for less than the retail value on ebay. If it is about marketing and PR, these people did a horrible job. But their timing was good.

493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: February 16, 2018, 03:04:59 PM
Innosilicon has their A5 out for on their website for $2780 USD with the MOQ at 5 units.
If this isn't a slap in the face I don't know what is.

I noticed that they didn't yet post this news on their Twitter page. Probably because they are afraid of the backlash they might get for ripping so many people off. Cheesy

Wtf ?They are selling it cheap because it has issues? Did i get that right? Dash isnt worth mining anyways, they are somewhat asic resistant and alot of those offline ant D3s will come back to life soon as price goes up lol. Dash difficulty is down from its peak recently but is slowly coming back up.
Well I'm hoping that they at least fixed the capacitor issue in these newer models. But I wouldn't be surprised it they didn't.

Dash is still worth mining. It's not asic resistant. The fact that there are asics available to mine it means that it is not asic resistant. ATM the A5 is slightly more profitable than mining Bitcoin with an s9 if you get it for the price listed on their website.

Bitmain crashed dash mining within a few antminer shipments only. It was probably unexpected because they did issue some coupons for all dash buyers later on. Thus, others said (back then in d3 thread) that it is because dash difficulty rises alot quicker due to asics. It can spike more than expected. That info could be wrong though.

I wont say it is that profitable. I unplugged my D3 during the crash recently for a few days as it wasnt worth making so little per month but I have since plugged it in back as dash price had risen some. Others will plug their D3 back in once price rise back towards 1000 USD. Profits werent much even when dash was at 1000 USD because difficulty was higher. Current difficulty is lower.
494  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [NEWS] Antminer S9 CUSTOM FIRMWARE! on: February 16, 2018, 02:43:06 PM
If u design one, can perhaps not have a dev fee that charges by mining to a dev pool. This is because the S9 takes up to 20mins to switch pools. It would be inefficient.

...

I think your biggest risk is just its reliability. I assume they are sending u a fast unit for a review. Maybe their PR is not so bad after all lol.

497  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: February 14, 2018, 06:23:13 PM
There will be a tight performance competition between Halong Mining and Canaan Creative.

We don't know yet about Bitmain plans for the next Antminer generation.

Halong Mining Dragonmint T1 16Th/s, advertised hash rate is 16 Th/s and power consumption is 1480W.
Power efficiency would then equal 1480 / 16000 = 0.0925 J per Gh/s.
Delivery time frame: March-April 2018.

Canaan Creative AvalonMiner 841, advertised hash rate is 13 Th/s and power consumption is 1200W.
Power efficiency would then equal 1200 / 13000 = 0.0923 J per Gh/s.
Delivery time frame: March-April 2018.

Hmmm I dont think dragon, bitmain or canaan will be competing much. It wont matter unless btc rise alot again. The asic manufacturers are forgetting that people buy to profit or at least break even. Antminers S9s are not selling for some time now. Difficulty is too high and set to go higher with so many new miners coming in. If bitcoin has to skyrocket just for mining to have some decent profit, then, it makes more sense to buy bitcoin than to mine it.

Does it help if I say these are real? I can't speak for their production targets times costs etc. but they do hash uniquely different and I've helped work with them remotely.

U mean remote connection through a computer or have u physically operated one?
I said remote.

I see. Well, it does help. Wat doesnt help is the mining difficulty going past the moon lol

500  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: February 13, 2018, 09:32:10 AM
I don't think the haloongs will bring up the difficulty rating. I'm more concerned about big operations like bitfury hut 8. I do expect a new bitmain machine this year, as other posters have speculated. I still think haloong needs to get this thing out ASAP or they're going to miss their window. At those prices it's already a tough sell, if better tech keeps releasing they're going to be sitting on a release that would have been huge 6 months earlier.

Halong, assuming they are real, will be releasing orders taken from december onwards. It is bad enough already. It is about to get worst.

It is possible for a whole industry (big and small players) to make losses for even a decade ...as u can see in the bulk carrier shipping industry. U can google about that as an example.

A good example is just the D3 now. D3 miners will run the machines even if it makes 20-30 bucks a month per machine lol. So, the big low cost miners will make say 70-80 bucks per D3 and the smaller miners will make 20-30 bucks per machine. No one breaks even either way. Hopefully, it does not occur here...
