6581  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-02] BTC-E closure: Clients are MT. Goxed by the US. on: August 02, 2017, 04:17:22 PM
That is the biggest question so far that must be addressed by the US government authorities...are they not respecting the sovereignty of the country where BTC-e is based on? I am sure this will not be the last where the US government seemed to have made an overreach.

I am particularly sad of the many legitimate customers and traders who were using BTC-e. The exchange promised refunds but some of the funds were confiscated by the FBI (if am not mistaken) so refund may not be granted in full.

Maybe it is time that we stand up against this shenanigan by the US authorities and let them realize the right jurisdiction they should follow.
6582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Bitcoin Cash on: August 01, 2017, 04:34:24 PM
BitcoinCash (BCH) can have a space in the cyrptocurrency market...I am sure of that but it should be taken as just another altcoin and not really as a rival to the Bitcoin throne. It will have a value but will never be able to compete with the real Bitcoin. I am hoping it can survive though even if there will really be a huge dumping...as there are already predictions that BCH holders might be doing dump on a massive scale.
6583  Economy / Economics / Re: Make Bitcoin Great Again! on: August 01, 2017, 04:16:25 PM
No doubt block size is biggest Bitcoin concern atm and reason for series of forks. Best solution for block size is always Segwit and 2Mb is more than enough for now. So we could see huge decline in Bitcoin fees after Segwit2x fork for sure.
Today's decline in fees is temporary due to conservative people approach before fork but soon after Segwit2x fork maybe in Nov, we will see permanent downfall in fees. This will surely make Bitcoin great again and merchant friendly.

PS: Bitcoin Cash 8Mb block size sucks!  Tongue

I would love to see Bitcoin really reach its full potential in terms of so many factors including the lowering of transaction fees and making it really lightning fast. Sure, there is now the BitcoinCash (BCH) but it remains to be seen how it can perform in the sea of altcoins we already have.
6584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [Bounty] HashRush Game — Signature & Translation Campaign. on: August 01, 2017, 03:59:24 PM
The project and the idea can be so refreshing. That is why I am joining its social media campaign bounty as I already got a sizable Facebook and Twitter accounts. Plus there is no need to make a report which can be time consuming, actually. Thanks for this bounty program. I am all in!
6585  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-01] Bitcoin’s Civil War is Over But Bitcoin Price Set For Extreme Volat on: August 01, 2017, 03:41:45 PM
We will see what will happen in the coming days. The main sentiment of the market is that Bitcoin will soar into the sky once this first phase will be over and that BitcoinCash is now being looked as just another altcoin and not anymore as a threat. Now, even if BitcoinCash can be gaining in value, there is a possibility that the two coins can exist peacefully -- that is without necessarily fighting each other.
6586  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-08-01] Fork Watch: First BitcoinCash Block Mined on: August 01, 2017, 03:28:19 PM
Quote
The first Bitcoin ABC (Bitcoin Cash) block was mined on August 1 at approximately 12:37 p.m. UTC at block height 478558. Over the past week, the central theme of discussion has been the August 1 hard fork and the possible birth of a new token called ‘Bitcoin Cash’ (BCC). The fork has come about after months of long debates, scaling proposals, and community infighting and many bitcoin proponents from both sides are showing a sense of relief although some are still uncertain of the events that will take place, and how the bifurcation of the Bitcoin blockchain will play out.

Today a whole lot of people have been patiently waiting for the user-activated hard fork (UAHF) to commence and the coming of the new digital currency Bitcoin Cash.  August 1 has arrived and the 12:20 UTC time period has officially passed. The first BCC block 478558 has been mined, but at the time of writing a split has not yet occurred.

Well, I think we should all be welcoming the birth of another altcoin by the name of BitcoinCash (BCH) and although it has been seen like an enemy of the real Bitcoin there is no question that those who would be receiving free BCH would be so happy about it. The real Bitcoin has nothing to be afraid of BCH because it can never be equal to the original.
6587  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-01] Japanese Digital Currency Exchanges Halt Bitcoin Services Again Ahe on: August 01, 2017, 02:07:17 PM
It is actually nice to see that these Japanese exchanges are very careful that they would not be experiencing any problem as the Bitcoin network is in this transition stage. I am sure that they have considered the situation and halting their business is the best option. They would be back soon after August 1.
6588  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-01] New Poloniex Terms Provide For Renunciation Of Collective Lawsuits on: August 01, 2017, 02:04:44 PM
This is a good update actually and must be reflective of the recent pronouncement of USA's SEC on the issue of DAO tokens as some of them can be categorized as issuing securities. Poloniex is now very careful that they would not have any possible conflict with any agency of the government. This is just doing due diligence so that members can be protected and their funds safe from any possible encroachment.
6589  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-01] 20 New ICOS Announced Despite SEC Warning on: August 01, 2017, 02:00:02 PM
The recent popularity of so many ICOs in different forms and types is a testament to the fact that people are really so excited in the blockchain technology that they can be so trusting with their hard-earned money...but we have to be careful because not all of these projects would be successful. There has to be a need for balance here. I am not against regulation if the purpose is to protect investors and to expose scam artists.
6590  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-31] BTC-E Claims Alexander Vinnik Was Never Their Admin Employee on: August 01, 2017, 01:40:52 PM
I am foreseeing that this will be a long-drawn case against BTC-e and the US government lead by the Department of Justice (based on their domain seizure post). BTC-e should hire a very good lawyer so that they can establish that they have nothing to do with Alexander Vinnik otherwise they would not any business to return to and their customers would suffered the most if they can not be able to refund the money. I am hoping that the money seized by the operatives would consider on how the innocent customers can be refunded as they can be powerless on this incident.
6591  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-01] Coinbase customers suffer from delays as withdrawal period ends on: August 01, 2017, 01:32:49 PM
Customers of Coinbase who have already withdrawn their Bitcoin from this service provider must never return their Bitcoin and must continue depositing it elsewhere. Apparently, Coinbase must not be listening to their customers well enough. The coins from BitcoinCash would come free so why would you not want to participate in the airdrop? They must have decide on this issue on the shoes of their customers.
6592  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-31] Price Analysis, July 31: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Ether on: August 01, 2017, 12:54:13 PM
I am sure that Bitcoin will rise days after August 1 because many would be buying back the Bitcoin they sold or converted days before the Segwit schedule. And with many analysts and personalities  telling us that it is going to the moon, then it can be a self-fulfilling prediction. As to Ethereum, I am really hoping that it can be back in the $300 range when I bought mine.
6593  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2017-07-31 Cointelegraph.com Bitcoin Price is Likely to Surpass $3,000 After Seg on: August 01, 2017, 12:46:35 PM
Yes, this is quite expected actually by the market that is why even before August 1 there is already a rise in the value of Bitcoin as some are already buying more of the cryptocurrency as they also want to have free BitcoinCash (BCH) in the wallets that are supporting BCH.

Bitcoin will finally reach the sky soon after this phase of the SegWit saga can be over. We will be seeing how the market would react come November when new technical changes need to takes place.
6594  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-08-01] Bitcoin.com Pool Members Can Mine Bitcoin Cash on: August 01, 2017, 12:40:39 PM
Quote
This past March Bitcoin.com launched its mining pool which has garnered quite a bit of hashrate since it started. This is due to the pool offering the best payout plans in the industry with a 110% block reward, 0% fees. Now we are pleased to announce that pool.bitcoin.com members can prepare to mine the Bitcoin Cash (BCC) protocol when the chain starts on August 1st.

On August 1 after 12:20 UTC there is a planned hard fork taking place on the Bitcoin network which will bifurcate the blockchain into two separate paths. Discussions concerning this event have been happening for weeks, and our readers can get up to date by reading this article here. After the split, a new token will be created called ‘Bitcoin Cash’ (BCC or BCH) and it will offer a few different aspects compared to the current bitcoin protocol; raising the block size limit to 8MB and removing protocol changes like Segregated Witness and Replace-by-Fee (RBF).

In our recent PSA concerning Bitcoin.com’s official position on the BCC chain, we remain committed to the Segwit2x proposal, otherwise known as the New York Agreement. However, due to significant demand from our users, the Bitcoin.com pool will give mining customers the option of supporting the Bitcoin Cash chain with their hashrate. Since the fork is almost upon us, we’ve decided to let pool.bitcoin.com members get prepared to mine the BCC chain.

Courtesy of Bitcoin News.

This can be good news to members of the Bitcoin.com pool as they will now have an option to also participate in BitcoinCash (BCH). I know that there seems to be a negative press against BitcoinCash but then again since it is already here we might as well accept it and see if we can make some money out of it.
6595  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-31] Ronnie Moas standpoint: Bitcoin to $5,000, ethereum to double on: August 01, 2017, 12:35:47 PM
Who would not want this prediction to happen as soon as possible? After all of this very dramatic scaling debate, Bitcoin can finally go forward and rise astronomically even maybe going beyond $5,000. Everybody is expecting for Bitcoin to rise that is why many are buying Bitcoin as soon as the market would open. This can be a self-fulfilling prediction. And I would be happy and so would the rest of us Bitcoin holders.
6596  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: So far Voting % result shows that there is no bitcoin split. on: July 29, 2017, 04:04:46 PM
There will probably be an split (or copy...) with a Chinese coin called BTCC (bitcoin cash) but it should not mean anything.

They wil use a copy of the current bitcoin blockchain and alter the rules a bit and they call it bitcoin cash. They wil mine their own copy further.
This will not influence the real bitcoin blockchain.

In my opinion they are just hoping that al the uncertainty about this wil give them a lot of attention.

They already have the name of the coin that will split on August 1 and it is actually already traded. Now, am certain that it has only negligible effect on the real Bitcoin and this thing will not have any bearing on the value of Bitcoin. BitcoinCash can be dumped anytime they showed in the wallets of many Bitcoin holders.
6597  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Management on: July 29, 2017, 03:50:53 PM
I prefer BitcoinPlatform.com though the other one is also beautiful. I guess there is no stopping you to buy both domain because the word board can be good if you want to develop something related to a forum or news site. In other words, decide based on what you want to develop for your site. Good luck on your endeavors.
6598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: social media campaign? -newbie on: July 29, 2017, 09:04:09 AM
I've read most of the bitcoiners mentioning "Social media Campaign" as a newbie, I know i'm not in rank to join any Signature campaign. As curious as I am, what is Social media campaign? Do "newbie" as me, can join? What are the requirements? Thanks for any answers.. Godbless us all.

People in this forum who are having a hard time for the signature campaigns can choose instead to concentrate on social media promotional bounties. But in most cases you will not be paid by Bitcoin but by the same coin/token you are promoting.

Now, what should you do if you are serious into this? You must increase your followers in Twitter by following people who are also into concurrency or Bitcoin. Same thing with Facebook...increase your friends. The more followers and friends the better is your chance to get accepted and earn some coin/token. Goodluck.
6599  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex disabled bitcoin deposit on: July 29, 2017, 08:52:58 AM
Just a heads up, to any of you that are following BCC

Bittrex will be giving their users BCC tokens on a 1:1 ratio

Deposits and withdrawals will be frozen on August 1st.

https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000808991-Statement-on-Bitcoin-Cash-BCC-

This is an interesting news. Now, I am wondering if I will withdraw my Bitcoin to another wallet and my account will not be anymore holding any Bitcoin in Bittrex, will it mean I will not be getting any amount of BCC?

Now, if that is the case, it is not advisable to get my Bitcoin out from Bittrex since I am also interested to have some free BCC which I am planning to dump afterwards.

Am I correct?
6600  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nice looking paper btc wallet on: July 29, 2017, 08:46:16 AM
I am not really so familiar with the intricacies of this paper wallet thing but I think you can really do it using Electrum. Please go over into the site and see how things can be done. However, there are also other ways which you can gift someone some Bitcoin. You can also just create a wallet account and then share the details of that account to someone who can be your receiver.
