Why are you selling
Already leaving mining?

I have 3 rigs.  My son just got cleared to have his own room after having seizures for years, so rather than have his room be 95 degrees, I figured I'd get rid of one of the rigs and invest it right back into Eth.

Where are you located, what's your price?

I'm in Kentucky.  $1625 or 8.25 eth is what I was hoping for based on what I see on ebay, but if I'm being unrealistic, educate me with some reliable sources and I MAY consider less.

WTS 5x Sapphire Radeon 580 4GB.  Will accept Eth for payment and consider other offers.  Any questions, let me know.

Boost the clock speeds

With what? Any suggestions?

I started with the 1500 memory straps and a clock speeds of of 2050 and 1150 on my 4 gigs.  That's gotten me to 26.5, but I'm going to try custom straps next week if nobody has found anything better.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [HELP] Modding RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ on: May 21, 2017, 03:27:17 PM
I have those and the bios can definitely be modded.  Try the 1750 strap with clocks of 1140/2050.  That's a pretty quick way to get you up to about 28.

I haven't had any experience with the 480s, but I will say it seems there was a lot more "work" to get the 570s and 580s working as well as people say the 4 series work.  That being said, as irritating as it was and with the 2 days I lost tweaking, I would probably buy the 5 series again because it provided a good learning experience and in the end I ultimately got the same results.  If you're in a rush to get started, the 4 series might be better, but if you want to learn more about getting your cards to optimal operation and understanding why people are recommending what they do, the 5 series may provide that with the learning it takes to get them running right.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually I am on the same page. Spending a couple of days for running and optimizing the rif Will be good experience. I will buy rx570s.

Which cards do you run for your rig?

Any advice on rx570/580 models?

There is probably specific information in one of the 570/580 threads on what is best, but I went with a couple Sapphire Radeon nitro+ 570s and a couple 580s of the same.

I am planning to setup a rig with RX 5XX series. RX 4xx series are more stable for now but I have seen good examples of RX 5xx rigs as well, with regards to hash rate and power consumption after some modding.
I think RX 5xx series will level up with RX4XX in a couple of weeks/months with new drivers and work arounds. Even if they have similar/equal performance with RX 400 at the end, at least they will have better resale value when they are done. Also the prices are almost equal for RX 500 and 400 series for me. Actually 400 series are even a little bit harder to find and some models are more expensive.

What do you guys think? Should I force myself to find 400 series or just start with RX 500?

With respect to pricing;

Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+
>>>
Sapphire RX570 Pulse=Asus RX 570 Strix=Sapphire RX 480 Nitro
>>>
Sapphire RX 580 Pulse=Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming
>>> Asus Rx 470 Strix= XFX RX 470 Black RS

I can buy RX 580 Pulse 10USD cheaper tan RX 570 Pulse.

RX prices are really confused nowadays...

RX580 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB Hynix at 1150 Mhz Core and 2150 Memory and Voltage -75mv - Trixx
RX580 Sapphire Pulse 8GB Hynix at 1150 Mhz Core and 2150 Memory and Voltage -75mv - Trixx

Maybe not all cards can be undervolted -75mv OR maybe more then -75mv

here is a blank, check you copy all without the blank (forum changes it?)

ETH: 30.1 - 30.3   -   100% Stable, 0 Errors, about 2 weeks

Long time i tried bios mods and many other memory straps, this one is the only working flawless with 30 MHs.
Other straps got me lower MH on memory overclock or blackscreens and artefacts

My man!  Struggled with my 580s with Hynix...always locking up , lower hashrates or some other issue.  This one did it.  Thanks!

If you want to test further try: "777000000000000022AA1C00B56A5D46C0551017BE8E060C006006000C081420EA8900AB0300000 010162C31C0313F17"

^Tried.  Instant lockup when starting the miner.  Went back to the other and it's been stable overnight.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Code 43 on Sapphire Nitro RX 570 8GB on: May 18, 2017, 02:18:59 AM

Mannnnnnn....that was it.  Must have lost after I moved PCI slots.  Working like a charm.  Thanks.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Code 43 on Sapphire Nitro RX 570 8GB on: May 17, 2017, 11:21:42 PM
I've got 6 cards.  3 - Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 and 3 - Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580.  I'm starting on the 570s first.  I've got 3 installed with the radeon 16/17 driver trick and it works fine until I use polaris bios editor.  I have micron memory and I'm using the 1750 2:xxxx straps.  If I have one card or 3 I get a code 43 on all of them that I have modified the bios.  I can revert back to the original and the code 43 goes away but my hash goes back down to 24.
 What am I missing?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future Ethereum mining on: May 14, 2017, 09:07:10 PM
I guess that's where I'm missing out.  I haven't looked at anything but btc and eth because they have more of an illusion of stability.  I like what crypto currency in general is trying to do and of course enjoy messing with the hardware and the attempt to be a part of something that most people won't spend the time to try to understand.  And of course I'm interested in making a little profit while I'm at it.  My girlfriend's explanation to her dad when he asked what I was building my rig for was "Oh, he spent a bunch of real money so that he can earn fake money."  Lol.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Future Ethereum mining on: May 14, 2017, 07:48:21 PM
For people that have been mining eth or just getting started, what are your plans for mining once Ethereum goes POS?  Will you participate in the POS system?  Sell off your equipment and be thankful with the time you had mining before POS?  Move on to a different coin?  I think it'd also be interesting to know the motivations behind that particular decision.
13  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Getting started antminer t9 vs avalon a741 on: May 04, 2017, 03:03:11 PM
I'm very very new to bitcoin (I just set up my bitcoin wallet yesterday).  I've been skimming material about bitcoin for about 6 months, but wanting to get a little deeper and potentially make a small profit.  I was almost certain I wanted to get an R4 or S9, but after reading a bit here it seems that they are not that reliable.  I then started looking at the a741 which seems to be much more reliable but significantly less efficient.

If were starting today from scratch but knowing what you know, what would you go with?  In case it would come up or if somebody wants to let me know my calculations are off, my power cost .07952/kWh.  For the T9, I calculated a break-even time of 214 days assuming $1300 for hardware costs, current difficulty of 521974519554, bitcoin to dollar price of $1529.  For the a741, I calculated 321 assuming a hardware cost of $1000.

Am I being overly optimistic assuming I can run one 24/7 for a year or until break-even.  What else am I missing?  I'm fine with it taking a year to break-even, but longer than that and I start to question whether I want to do mining at all.  Also, another thing I'm curious about is how people with dozens or even a couple got started.  Did you buy one and expand slowly from there or just make a decision when you got started and go all in?  Thanks in advance for all the help.
