1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Moving to a new laptop on: Today at 06:57:29 PM
Is it enough for me just to download the latest Electrum software to my new PV and verify the signature?
With verifying the signature, you only make sure that you haven't downloaded a fake version of electrum. That doesn't mean you are 100% secure. There's still the chance that your computer is infected with a malware.

This requires Kleopatra, if I recall, correct? Is there any link to a step by step process?

2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Moving to a new laptop on: Today at 06:08:14 PM
You can import your seed phrase into your new laptop. In this way, you can have access to your bitcoin in both laptops.
If you worry about the security of your old laptop, you should create a new wallet in the new laptop and make a transaction and move all the fund to your new wallet. In this way, your bitcoin will be no longer accessible in the old laptop.
Note that with having the same wallet in two computers, you double the risk of getting hacked, being robbed, etc.
3  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Multiple watch-only wallets possible? on: Today at 04:27:37 PM
Can someone confirm if it's possible to run commands from a watch only wallet, pls.
To make sure of that, I just created a watch-only wallet and tested it with ismine command in console tab. As shown in the following image, that's possible.

4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Q4 2010-Q1 2011 wallets on: Today at 04:07:47 PM
Bitcoin qt is not working with seeds i think in that time.
Right. Even now, bitcoin core doesn't support seed phrase.

All of my attentions re on electrum somehow.
If all words exist in the old electrum word list, there's a big probability that the wallet has been generated by electrum.
Maybe, the wallet hasn't been funded at all and that's simply why you don't see any balance.
5  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Q4 2010-Q1 2011 wallets on: Today at 02:52:20 PM
If you have a 12 word seed then your wallet certainly can't be older than 2012.
Not quite true.
Take a look at the topic created by ThomasV in November, 2011.
In that time, electrum was using a 12 word seed. That seed was created using a different algorithm from a word list containing 1626 words.

1. If I want to transfer Bitcoin to my cold wallet, it is enough to create a recieve request in the watch-only wallet and send it to the adress generated by this request?
Take note that you don't have to make a request before receiving fund.
You can go to "Addresses" tab and pick any of addresses you see there. All of those addresses are yours and can be used for receiving bitcoin.

If you don't see "Addresses" tab, click on "View" at top of the window and select "Show addresses".
7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Q4 2010-Q1 2011 wallets on: Today at 02:11:12 PM
bluewallet was exist in 2011?
No.

Am talking about the past, what wallets people were using btw end of 2010 or q1 2011.
One type of wallets people were using that time was paper wallet. It was a combination of an address an a private key written on a paper.
The other wallet I know people could use that time was bitcoin core.

I ve seeds from the past and I remember its electrum but couldn’t  get it work with electrum
If I'm not wrong, in the very old versions of electrum, there was a seed phrase which was created using a different algorithm and a different word list.

How about crypto.com then?
I haven't ever used this website, but there are so many negative reviews on trustpilot.

The website you are referring to is down now and I don't know what they are offering. But whatever they do, I wouldn't trust them. Their domain has been registered only 39 days ago.

@TryNinja, I think the Ninjastic.space scraper bot may be down.
Seems that there's a problem with the search engine too.
I get an error saying "Something went wrong..." when I try to search for posts or addresses.

They should know that yolodice has been closed and you are not able to give then such them details. If they don't know that, tell them that Yolodice has been closed.

Have you ever made any deposit from an address you have full control over?
Have you ever made any withdrawal to an address you have full control over?
If so, tell them you can sign a message from that address. They may accept it as an evidence. (Before that make sure that you can sign message.)
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why I prefer Decentralized wallet on: August 12, 2022, 12:05:23 PM
There is no centralized or decentralized wallet.
Wallets can be categorized into centralized and decentralized as well.
When you use bitcoin core, you are using a decentralized wallet, because you don't rely on any third party.
When you use a wallet like trustwallet, you are connected to their server and you need to receive data from them. Also, you can't make any transaction inside trustwallet, if they don't want to broadcast your transaction for any reason. This is why trustwallet is centralized wallet.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why I prefer Decentralized wallet on: August 12, 2022, 10:59:47 AM
I also feel that you are confusing decentralization with being non-custodial.
If you want a secure wallet, it should be non-custodial, decentralized and open-source.

As mentioned above, being non-custodial isn't enough.
For example, in trustwallet, you have full control over your keys. But since it's close-source, there is no way to know if you are the only one who has access to the keys and since it's centralized, you have to connect to their server. This can hurt your privacy.

Another example is mycelium.
In Mycelium, you have full control over your keys and since it's open source and its code has been reviewed by many people, you can be sure that you are the only one who has access to the keys. But there's still a problem with Mycelium. In mycelium, you have to connect to their server.

If you want your wallet to be non-custodial, decentralized and open-source, you can use bitcoin core or use electrum and run your own server.
If you want 100% security, you must create your non-custodial, decentralized and open-source wallet on a air-gapped device and your keys should never connect to the internet.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have a doubt about Bitcoin on: August 11, 2022, 11:55:49 PM
First of all note that since bitcoin was created, we only had a few upgrades like segwit and taproot to make some improvements. Bitcoin is still bitcoin and will remain bitcoin.
Secondly, it's not that easy to propose an idea and get it approved. The proposal should be supported by vast majority of miners.

today they might be proposing a change to some fee mechanism. tomorrow it might be changing the max supply.
In the case by changing fee mechanism, you mean taproot upgrade, note that however taproot makes some transactions cheaper, that wasn't why taproot was proposed. The main purpose of taproot is to improve the privacy.
Also note that maximum supply of bitcoin will never change. To change the maximum supply, we need a hard fork and if that happens, the new coin will be no longer bitcoin.

#2: anytime you introducing new changes to bitcoin, you run the possibility that you are introducing bugs.
Every proposal is reviewed by many people and it's very unlikely that an approved proposal causes a bug which ruin bitcoin.
16  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Cannot import wallet from PC app to the android app (bitcoin.com) on: August 11, 2022, 11:15:16 PM
By "ID", I want to believe you mean "Address",.........
Bitcoin.com wallet assign an ID to every wallet you create and that's completely different from addresses.

To OP:
Maybe, you have multiple wallets on your desktop wallet and you are importing the seed phrase of another wallet.

I didn't read their ToS but I played anyway and still playing there... it's a good place for gambling.
According to dPlay's terms and conditions, unlike freebitco, there are some restricted countries and it's possible that they ask users to go for KYC. This is why I said that their terms and conditions should be read before registration on dPlay.

I would like to see possibility to use FUN as a "currency" on freebitco - for betting, multiply etc, exactly like it is possible with sats.
If you want to gamble with your fun tokens, you can use dPlay. Connect your freebitco account with dplay casino, so you can use your FUN tokens balance at dPlay.
(Don't forget to read their terms & conditions, if you decided to use dPlay.)
19  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum syncing issue on: August 10, 2022, 06:11:27 PM
How to solve such a problem?
One way is to continue to change the server until one of them sends you the required data.Of course, I doubt any of them do so, but you may want to try you luck.
I don't know if there's any other secure SPV wallet which is helpful to you. Wait, somone may suggest you an alternative to electrum.

The last effort is to run your own electrum server or download the full blockchain and use bitcoin core.

Just try a different browser if you are having a problem.   Windows has 2 browsers built in plus anything else you use.  Start  >> iexplore (blue e symbol) is an old one that should still work for testing.
In the case Bttzed03 uses the latest version of windows (Windows 11), internet explorer browser isn't installed by default. In windows 11, microsoft edge has replaced internet explorer.
