Last advice for now:
Put out the cpu gently and the mobo also.
check for screws tighten enough
then with the cpu out, check the pins (both cpu and mobo slot) VERY carefully for mistakes.
c, ya tomorrow
good luck  Wink

See this guide and tell us what of them happend to you. Double check the part for correct c[u installation to the slot for juged pins.

If you have another GPU any type, put it to the slot to see if the screen opens. If not its mobo configuration.
If it's open then maybe the GPU needs configuration.

Does this installation works at all in the past?
Double check the screws not to touch anything, check also the manual for right configuration too and ALL the PSU matters

@ektwr: No onboard speaker from what I could tell on that board.

check this out-->http://www.manualslib.com/manual/325447/Asus-M5a99fx-Pro-R2-0.html?page=50#manual
you will see that there is an external speaker pins

A recent photo of your hardware setup would be helpfull.

1) Try to take everything out of the motherboard.
With the main AC cord out, put only the PSU connectors (both of them) to the mobo.

2) Now put the ram and check double to put it in the correct slot!

3) Give power to system with NO GPU connected.
Listen how many beeps you here.
Be advised from your user manual to check if only GPU is missing.

4) If it's ok, then switch off the psu and put only one GPU and put the psu connectors too.

5) Try to connect the monitor and cross your fingers!

6) If it's open and produce the bios image, ok

7) After that try to put the next GPU and do the same with the connections

Cool Finish with all of them and keep you eye on temperature and fan's.

Hope that helps a little

If i had about 20 avalon chips to handle for one PCB project, i would definately use 4 layer pcb.
But if it's possible to have only 5 chips per module, it would be great to have only 2 layers (for maintenance reasons) in modular connection.
I also believe that 4 layer pcb's are more sensitive and if accidentaly have a short circuit to the 2 middle layers, it would be
almost imposible to fix the damage as like 2 layer pcb. Just a thought... Smiley

Hi all,

i would like to do an announcement for all the people who does DIY mining projects:

Anyone who does a mining project and wants to present it to more people, can contact with me.

If it's not SCAM like, i will present it through my sites http://mineasics.com and http://www.mining-bitcoins.co

to many more people who like to learn and offer knowledge to the rest of us.

As a small contribution also, i offer small banner ad 125X125px free for one month.

Keep up the good work!

EDIT: The reason to do that post is that i dont like to ask the innovators permission all the time, to put a review of his project to my web sites.

In my opinion, KiCad is free but eagle has 3D capabilities for part placement adjustments.
You can see my article here-->http://www.scribd.com/doc/139222619/what-cad-software-you-use-for-your-diy-pcb-miner

I have access to it through my friend's electronic lab.
My question is: what is the schematic for avalon's to work with?
TIA
