Wikileaks has been suffering heavy, sustained DDOS attacks for over a week.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/12/wikileaks-our-sites-bee_n_1769580.html

Bitcoin remains (one of?) the only sources of funding available to the organization:

Quote from: wikileaks
#bitcoin: @wikileaks has received 1,128 bitcoin donations totaling ~3200 #BTC to our public address
http://blockchain.info/address/1HB5XMLmzFVj8ALj6mfBsbifRoD4miY36v … (1BTC ~ $11.70)
...
http://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/234727069282607104

Quote from: wikileaks
Bitcoin: You can still donate to WikiLeaks via our Bitcoin address: 1HB5XMLmzFVj8ALj6mfBsbifRoD4miY36v
...
http://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/234047887112294402

Quote from: wikileaks
Whilst we are under attack you can visit our donate page on:
http://x4vy4j4riwzwp66p.onion/donate (only through TOR) | Keep Us Strong
...

An appeal to conscience:

WikiLeaks has been financially blockaded without process for 619 days.

Quote from: John F. Kennedy
... In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility; I welcome it. I do not believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it – and the glow from that fire can truly light the world. And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man. Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us here the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth ...

Now, even as VISA, Paypal and the banks accept orders from above, unquestioningly.
Even after successive, successful attempts to strangle and halt Wikileaks,
To seize and freeze their every avenue, render them powerless to pursue a simple agenda;
an agenda of transparency and accountability to the public, in business and in government.

One channel remains open to the free world, a life line that cannot be quenched.
The one thing Wikileaks can rely on, and continue to rely on, is Bitcoin.

Keep the donations coming and spread the word.

Strength, in numbers! Bitcoin invictus!

I suspect that Wikileaks is merely controlled opposition.

I haven't investigated the matter enough to decide for sure.  I do notice they promote the false left/right paradigm.

It's worth noting that donations can also be done via one-time address generated by their irc bot. We have no idea how much has been donated - surely much more than what's in the public address.

I like what they do, even if they are "controlled opposition".

They're there, in their room.

Right vs. left debate does matter in the rest of the world.

That right=left in the US because of DEEP corruption is another matter.

Here in Australia the left=right because of deep corruption (that i suspect comes from either 'the US' or 'English banks', which may just be the same corruption)
