Hi, I found this Guldencoin on a german forum and was wandering if people used it or mined it. Also do these "national" (the Gulden was used in the Netherlands before the euro) coins have a better standing like the ones based on memes?
Thanks

Using cryptocurrency, and then associating them with restricted regions or limiting them to specific countries... It keeps puzzling me what the hell people are thinking. The advantages of region or country-specific altcoins over Bitcoin are: ..... That's it. Except for the developer / issuer obviously, they hope to make a quick buck.

while i don't have any Guldencoin because i'm not from Netherlands, so not targeted as their end-user nor can use it, I still think they are doing a very great job in merchants acceptance. If it works for them then cool and congrats. I'm wondering if someone that is visiting that place and have bitcoin, is there an advantage of grabbing some guldencoin (easily) instead of using bitcoin? like is guldencoin offers any %off products/services if you pay with these coins?

Guldencoin is 1 of the best coin to invest and hold for the future
Assuming you are involved with Guldencoin somehow, this is obviously not an objective advice. You may be right, but it's not objective. Not trying to be negative on purpose, but explain to me, exactly what are the main advantages of Guldencoin over Bitcoin? And, again, why the hell would someone want to associate a cryptocurrency (which ought to be free of restrictions or limits by nature) with just a specific country or region?

Another not-so-objective answer from me would be that the people behind Guldencoin are trying to get acceptance of the idea behind cryptocurrencies to the general public by using a coin people can already relate to. There's also a very large group in The Netherlands (majority) that longs back for the Gulden as currency. This is how I see benefit of using Guldencoin over Bitcoin. Thus far they are doing a great job!

And, again, why the hell would someone want to associate a cryptocurrency (which ought to be free of restrictions or limits by nature) with just a specific country or region? My opinion is that bonding a cryptocurrency to an open minded community is a great plus! Bitcoin is lack of bonding to anyone or anything. That is a disadvantage. Yes, true, bitcoin is decentralized, "ought to befree of restrictions", so it is everyones cryptocurrency, but everyone's coin is no one's coin, cause no one can bond with it, no ties. Of course, because of the great advantages a lot of tech savy people use it and their number is growing daily, but in the long run, a national currency can overperform Bitcoin in many ways and acceptance by Goverment is most likely with a national currency than Bitcoin. And one more thing, IBM was asked to develop a cryptocurrency to the Bank sector. Intel is interested in the blockchain technology. Soon, Goverments will come up their own Bitcoin alternatives, centralized digital currencies based on the blockchain and if you ask people from the steets, which currency they will choose, the goverment issued, "safe", insurred digital currency or Bitcoin, which is much more superior, decentralized, but not insured and they have to secure their savings and maintain it alone. I think 90% will say they will use the easier, goverment issued currency.

Why not? Not sure why people have this idea of what crypto should or shouldn't be, if they can make it work, then who are we to say anything? Personally i'm more embarrassed for Bitcoin in that there are more places to spend Guldencoin in the Netherlands than I can spend bitcoin my entire state here in the USA.
