Keiser Report: Russell Brand (min 8.40 to min 12.30)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiaEGox0BmE#t=785

Q: Russell Brand asks why are cryptocurrencies called crypto
A: It is all about being able to send units of currency from one address to another.
Cryptography is the math that allows you to sign a transaction with your private key without having to reveal it and still so that all others can verify you did indeed signed it with the private key you own. Your address follows mathematically and computationally from your private key, but importantly, the reverse doesn't. That is, if you have only the address you cannot know its corresponding private key.

Q: Is it based on a resource?
A: It is as if the balances associated with each address are all written on a public ledger distributed and accessible to all. And as if the more computer power is devoted to the network the more the font size and boldness of these registers increase making it more easy to achieve a consensus agreement because the letters become much more visible.
The resources are only for the units of currency to enter circulation in the balance sheets, given as rewards for the computer power devoted, and help make the letters and registers of the distributed database and software more bold and visible. And impossible to refute.

See my youtube video production: United Colors of Bitcoin.

{ Imagine a sequence of bits generated from the first decimal place of the square roots of whole integers that are irrational numbers. If the decimal falls between 0 and 5, it's considered bit 0, and if it falls between 5 and 10, it's considered bit 1. This sequence from a simple integer count of contiguous irrationals and their logical decimal expansion of the first decimal place is called the 'main irrational stream.' Our goal is to design a physical and optical computing system system that can detect when this stream starts matching a specific pattern of a given size of bits. bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=166760.0 } Satoshi did use a friend class in C++ and put a comment on the code saying: "This is why people hate C++".

I was wondering if Russell was aware of cryptos. I hope he gets involved somehow. I recommend his YouTube channel. Hopefully he'll do his own video on Bitcoin sometime.

Beat me to it.

What does the amount of money they have have to do with anything? Having a bit if money doesn't make your opinions less valid.

?? Okay...

Brand is actually far more aware of what is going on in this world than most people. I hope he educates himself some more on bitcoin and spreads the word. Keiser, on the other hand...idk how people can listen to that guy. His voice is so annoying!

I was a little confused by that whole episode, as Keiser had ripped into Brand in a previous show and basically dismissed him as an "economically illiterate bimbo".  They just seemed to gloss over that like it never happened.  Not sure who picks the guests for the show, but it's a strange choice if they do.  I don't mind Russell Brand and he does make the occasional good point, but at the same time I can't take everything he says seriously.  Same with Keiser, actually.

I think Stacey was there to keep them from losing their self control.

At least he is making the effort to get educated, it kills me when a "celebrity" trying to talk about it and has no idea what they are talking about. Joe Rogan was cringeworthy when he first started talking about BTC. Thank god he had AA on eventually and cleared some things up.

Didn't he host the MTV Music Awards in the US a few years ago and use it as an opportunity to criticize the US for not embracing a socialized healthcare system? I'm not sure that I value his opinions on issues of monetary reform.

Night gathers, and now my bitcoinwisdom watch begins.

Russell is at the ground level of bitcoin knowledge ie nothing.
I hope Max has planted the seed that will send Russell down the bitcoin rabbit hole. Bitcoin fits perfectly into his ideas of revolution.

This isn't really worth it's own thread so posting here.

Brand is ridiculously popular and influential. His fans number into the tens of millions and generally seem to worship the dude and do what he suggests. That's a big audience. Given his comment at 7:40, Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?

Stacey is the only sane mind left on that show even tho she is also a 9/11 conspiratard so im not that sure about that anymore.
