Please check that your computer's date and time are correct. If your clock is wrong Bitcoin will not work properly.

I recently ran Derek's boot and nuke and restored my computer to factory settings to definitively remove any and all viruses and spyware I may have accrued over time. After downloading the Bitcoin client, I got the above message at the bottom of my wallet where the blockchain normally is. I checked my clock and its within a second of the atomic clock in Colorado. Yet it wont finish downloading the blockchain. Does anyone know what is going on?

What time zone do you have your system set to?

that and be sure your bios is set to the correct year, date and time as well.

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

Thanks. It was the time zone. Funny, because when I set the clock the first time I know I had it right.
