After reading up on Bitcoin for the past few months, I finally made the jump.
In the past ten days, I've installed one of the bitcoin clients, transferred fiat currency and made several purchases of bitcoin through one of the exchanges and sent my coins to one of my wallets.
Everything has gone smoothly so far. I consider myself "on the other side" now, but I do realize - although there is no going back - these are only the first steps.
Next step - completing an actual purchase of a physical product with my coins. Already browsing the marketplace.
A see no one is selling hemp-scrip so suggestions are welcome.

yup, Bitcoin is not exactly Freigeld.
I also still hold the view that Freigeld may make sense to push a local economy, but does not make much sense for a currency of global scope.

Actually after reading up on Gesell I do agree with his views on the economic nature of man but I don't get the "no interest and rent charges" thing.
