Bitcoin killer app has arrived

I use to think the Alt community were a bunch of idiots but now I see many in hardcore bitcoin only crowd are just as foolish.


How exactly is a messenger app that has a Bitcoin wallet that allows you to send bitcoin or the token of gems a stupid proposition. What annoys me is IF this app is successful then Bitcoin will benefit but at the same threw nothing but insults at it. The beauty of the app is that it doesn't needs the gulag of Bitcoiners but has the ability to break out into much larger numbers than Bitcoin. Have you seen the numbers for some of these messenger apps, even unpopular ones have a million or two users.

I can see the personality of the guys who missed out on the early days of Bitcoin will miss out here too. Why should anyone in the mainstream care about Bitcoin if the community is so unable to approach new ideas like the posters here? I just hope the bitcoin community isn't as dumb and partisan as the posters here..

Yes, and if you see beyond, you realize that we, the people, are the ones who gives the coins its value, what makes the people that think altcoins never will be better than bitcoin more foolish is that if they just jump into this or any altcoin it WILL be more successful that bitcoin, but they are so short than they can't see that

This app is awesome and has serious potential, im a harcore bitcoin fan but through this app its the easiest way to get people into bitcoin, screw other alts this is the only one that a regular person would use.

Its too bad some bitcoiners can't see it.  This app demonstrates the beauty of decentralization.  Where the users are the ones rewarded.

I can't for the life of me understand why anyone who calls them self a bitcoiner would prefer a centralized messaging app with no bitcoin capabilities.

I visited the AppStore and found the app "GetGems Messenger". Apart from the pink theme, it looks like a well made app. How do we earn gems and bitcoin? I see the gems and bitcoin balance, what is the exchange rate?

Look, not every single thing vaguely related to bitcoin or decentralization is a "killer app". The vast majority of them are crap. This one in particular.

Facebook is valuable not because it's really well-made. It's not because the world loves Zuckerberg. It's because it has a lot of users. It's the same with uber, airbnb, and anything of that nature. The value is in the userbase, not in the product itself.

Any decent team of programmers can make an airbnb. Any decent team can make a Facebook or an Uber. But they're not going to earn billions, because they don't have that userbase. The difficult part isn't creating the product, it's attracting costumers.

With a bitcoin social app, you have to overcome the huge advantage of other social sites like Facebook, Renren, Google+........., AS WELL as overcome the world's perception of bitcoin.

So you have to overcome the difficult part TWICE. Sorry, I don't see this thing working.

We shall see.  It is the best messaging app in the world currently with features that WhatsApp can never offer. 

Will people gravitate towards the best??  I think so eventually.  They gravitated towards the best messaging app at the time whatsapp and now its getgems. 

This will be very good for bitcoin too.
