Hello, I've been involved in developing applications for Android and other platforms, and I wanted to see if there was any demand here for work that would be paid using bitcoin.

The process would entail a few steps:

1.) Requirement submission and timeframe
2.) Total price negotiation (Half up front, half on delivery)
3.) Requirements solidified, first payment
4.) Communication about status, implementation details as necessary (User preferences and feedback from static shots)
5.) Delivery and final payment

Obviously the more involved a project is, the higher on the scale it would be, but I'd like to see if there is any demand for this kind of service.

Thank you for your time.

I wanted to see if there was any demand here for work that would be paid using bitcoin.

There's an opportunity for someone to build a standalone app to redeem private keys.

All the app (or mobile-enabled web app) needs to do is simply let you scan a QR code with a private key, and then scan the QR code of the destination Bitcoin address (or allow entry of the bitcoin address / paste from clipboard).

From there the app needs only to send an API call to Blockchain.info:

I have been meaning to add this ability to the blockchain.info API for a while. You can now replace the guid in the send api (https://blockchain.info/api/api_send) with a Hex encoded private key.

https://blockchain.info/merchant/4d6c9dff493fcd2da9508e01c8b13461d37e3d8b6df1732942d3257874051362/payment?to=$address&amount=$amount

$address = destination bitcoin address.
$amount = amount to send in satoshi.

(Well, technically two calls, one to get the unspent balance and the second call for the spend transaction.)

This could be a pretty easy app (or mobile-enabled website) to build.   To see how a mobile-enabled website can do a field for scanning via a QR code, see EasyWallet.org' site:

I'ld love to see someone build this capability for mobiles.

Stephen, thanks for the post and I'll look into it. I'll let this thread marinate a bit to see if there are any other projects that people would like accomplished.

My primary goal is to make mobile more accessible at a reasonable cost, and to gauge interest.

Like many have said here, you can help bitcoin adoption along if you start offering services using it, and that is what I'd like to do here as well.

That's a fair point -- I keep forgetting that there are a lot of scammers and such in the existing environment. Perhaps it would benefit me to get something done for free and distribute it, just to prove that I have the skills to do so.

I assure you I do, but again I know it is hard to trust someone over the internet if you don't know them personally. I'll think about this further and will share links to a demo .apk in due time.

no no no - it's not about scamming - it's about skill and sense for a project

I know some of the best coders - but they don't have sense how to design a workflow for the normal dummy user, so it may be a bit useable for them Smiley

I understand, wasn't trying to suggest that you thought I was - I just hadn't considered having a demo out there, which would make sense if someone wanted to see what I could do.

You're right about user interfaces, some programmers don't have a good concept of what usability is. I tend to make applications that would need to be accessible by a wide audience, so I'm pretty well-versed in making clear controls and interface elements.

During the development process there would be some iteration through the external design elements until it was deemed satisfactory. That is just natural feedback that should be in place on a project, and I firmly believe in that.

I've worked with java variants dealing with trading before. Just send me a private message regarding what you're trying to achieve and we could discuss it.

Now I'm on my PC again...

I just want to port some parts of my trading app to android.

Maybe the trading UI: https://i.imgur.com/MqHfF.jpg

and some parts of the bots: https://i.imgur.com/7YNbM.jpg
