Wow that's ridiculous! I don't know whether you should be flattered or scared Grin
Well you've done the best thing by starting a thread so people can be aware that it's not you, a warning to people if you like.
What else can you do? Send a moderator(s) a PM informing them & maybe keep an eye on the imposters posts & report any potential scammy ones.
I think that's all you can do mate.

Just put a neutral rating on his trust, letting people know that he's not you.

In your threads say that there is a person impersonating you, and that they double check if they are receiving PMs from the correct person.

And give it negative trust(it already received red trust, so less of a problem).

There are good chances that the other you will be banned, but it is not guaranteed, because the forum don't moderate scams

To prevent that from happening in the future, you can post in your listings that the only address for payment is address x. That way there's a lower chance of scamming because if people are paying attention, they should know what address to send funds to.

However if it does happen again, if you know someone on trust level 1 or 2, contact them and request that they leave negative rep on the imposter's profile, that should prevent them from scamming because of the red flair.

If people are going to get scammed then this or any other precaution you put in place won't stop them. You'd think no one would ever send money to a blatant imposter account but people do.

This is especially true considering that any PM received from that account will carry a large warning saying that they are likely an imposter if you think they are a veteran member.

Hmm, never knew of that one before. I thought that sending and receiving a PM from newbies are the only cases wherein you will see a big red warning, or am I missing something?

Put a neutral on the account's trust rating. In that way, people will (or at least they will) view the profile first before making a deal with the person.

Nope, PM's from newbies are the only PM's that carry the red warnings with them.

As for leaving neutral rates, I think that a negative trust on the account would be more effective. It's pretty clear that the impostor is trying to scam users, and I think that deserves a red trust. Like hilariousandco and Quickseller mentioned, lots of people wouldn't bother checking out a user's trust before sending coins.

I doubt much a alt account going to do you any damage so long as it is not you and is someone else trying to have someone else on its their own fault for doing business with an alt name or lookalike. Simple rule these days if its not real account and alt or sim name then dont do business as its asking for trouble and yet many people still fall into the trap of believing it is the same person after maybe speak saying yeah its me alt account person thinks ok. I would confirm this first before business done then most just don't get back or scam and get added to shit list. Simple rule of business DONT DO IT UNLESS REAL NAME CAN CONFIRM WITH PROOF OR GTFO

In some specific cases the ppl are needing alt account, like giving out account as collateral. So altaccount is created for further communication even doing business. But it is a good practice to ask for a signed message from an old address from the main account!
