Why so many transactions in the Gulf of Guinea?

Whenever I'm looking up transactions, a large percentage show their location as being off the coast of west Africa, in the Gulf of Guinea. I know that it just means the server which first relayed this was located there... but is there some special operation or server there which is becoming some sort of centralized node?

Any ideas?

Lat 0 Lon 0. Probably just means they don't have location data.

this is just an empty data entry. they should finally catch that and don't display this silly map in that case.
