Secondly, I am beyond excited that Mike Hearn has joined us as our Lead Platform Engineer. He brings half a decade of experience of blockchain and cryptocurrency development and over seven years of experience helping run some of Google’s most heavily-trafficked websites. The combination of deep understanding of blockchain technologies and real-life experience of building rock-solid internet-scale production platforms is truly unmatched in the industry. And his involvement in the recent bitcoin blocksize debate gives me confidence he can hold his own against a group of very opinionated bank architects…

Still anybody here who thinks that this guy only wanted the best for Bitcoin?
Now what do you think Gavin is about?

Mike is joining a group to study blockchain solutions to banking industry. At least that is not hindering bitcoin development.

I think Mike hearn has the worst reputation in bitcoin ecosystem. Is not suprise this news.  I only hope Mike hearn to stay in this R3 altcoin system and leave bitcoin forever. Is something good and for him and for bitcoin.

I think bitcoin needs these kinds of things to succeed. Sure their initiatives aren't directly about Bitcoin, but eventually they'll arrive at the conclusion that they'll need to centralise everything in order to reach the level of control that any institution or government requires.

Can't say I blame him considering his position with Bitcoin types these days. I wonder if any other old schoolers will find future big bucks hard to resist.
