I looked on the web site and checked the news but there's not much news about it.

Thanks

The latest related Bitcoin or Gemini article I could found is from late July.

http://www.engadget.com/2015/07/26/winklevoss-twins-apply-for-bitcoin-exchange-trust/

Quote
You may still think of the Winklevoss twins as those guys who claimed to have invented Facebook, but they've just taken a big step toward making their names in the digital currency business. The two have filed a New York trust application necessary for them to launch their Gemini bitcoin exchange. The move won't put Gemini on the same level as a bank if it's approved, but it will let the exchange accept deposits, issue loans and serve as an agent for government institutions.

This won't be the first time that a bitcoin exchange has launched since New York implemented its BitLicense rules -- ItBit managed to beat Gemini to the punch. However, the Winklevii are hoping that their higher-profile service will be the ticket to legitimizing bitcoin in the US, where virtual money is only just finding its feet.

When they are ready, you will expect them to saturate the media with marketing hype. Since there is are news, I think they wouldn't be trading at least untill next quarter in 2016.

I'm also curious when will the Winklevoss brothers come and contribute to the bitcoin community. And in somewhere in reddit I read they will take bitcoin into Moon like that....Another bitcoin exchange must be good for bitcoin. After mtgox shadows, may be Gemini can give bitcoin some good times, I too believe....

I wouldn't wait standing up, so sit down chill because at this pace it will be 2016 and we will still not have it. We are close, but how close? I think not this year. They are already late at being the first Bitcoin ETF, someone else already launched their own firm. Thats what happens when you aren't quick enough and announce things way too son.

If its anything like the coinbase launch, we should see some volatility return.

What's the allure of the Gemini exchange that keeps from using other exchanges that are readily available today.

This is my first time hearing of it (and I'm on here pretty regularly), so it must be very new or not keen to advertise much yet. I'd love to learn more if you'd care to share.

I think it is already here in the US but not outside the country. But I admit it is new to me and I don't really know the full details of it.

Well I think it some kind of part of biticoin, I mean it is one way to keep biticoins safe, as far as I know it is not out in country yet.

It is probably the fact that this is regulated (attracts more people from the financial world) and run by highly bankrolled and well known people (low risk of running with your money).

I don't think that it will be so big. It is not global exchange to begin with, China and Europe won't be trading there. Plus, Gemini will be based in New York and they have that awful Bitcoin Restriction Law aka Bit License there - it certainly won't help.

i'm more interested in what this new exchange will offer, that other exchange does not have already, i presume nothing right?

so my question is, why this exchange would make any difference in the market if it's just another same thing of what we have already?

Even if that exchange won't be anything new & spectacular and won't bring any new features. The hype alone will be enough to pump bitcoin price up.
Gemini project is considered to be the safest exchange created so far, so even without additional features it will be worth to use it.
