Electrum 2.3.3 For Download on All Platforms (Except Windows)

I can see 2.3.3 listed as the latest version but the links for windows downloads are still 2.3.2.  Did I miss something somewhere and is there a delay for latest release to windows?  The 2.3.2 version only works about 25% of the time I open it.  It constantly opens up with the wrong balance and also has issues sorting out the tip amount.  Half the time it won't autofill the tip amount and it won't even let me put anything in there and then gives me a warning about not including a tip... even though it won't let me manually put one in.

What's the deal with electrum?  Constant updates required and then it doesn't even hardly work most of the time.  It's worse than the dreaded itunes updates.  At least with that the software still played music.  With electrum it's a crap shoot to see if I'll even be able to send/receive bitcoin.

I stopped updating after version 2.0. I use it with my Trezor and updates after that the Trezor simply did not work correctly. I also lost all my descriptions from Trezor transactions. I went back to 2.0 and do not update again. If you find a version you are happy with and it does what you want, as long as there are no security concerns and with Trezor I have none, I see no reason to keep updating because a new version was released by the devs.

That's the thing, I almost always end up having problems after a few weeks so I look on the website and there's usually an updated version.  I load up the new version and everything works--for a while.  This time, when I went to download I noticed that there was a new version announced but not posted for Windows. 

But... I think it's probably not really the problem with the version.  I noticed that if I just delete the roaming files and start over again it seems to work again.  idk...

You could do like jackbox suggested and just use an older version of Electrum, see if you get errors doing that. Hopefully that will solve your problems, but if you're still getting errors with other versions, it could instead be a problem with your PC. If it indeed is a problem with your computer, I suspect that the culprit would either be a failing HDD or faulty RAM.

yes there's a delay between sources and binary releases.
if your wallet shows a wrong balance, please post a bug report with a precise description of the problem.
(note: restoring from seed may fix it, if the wallet file is somehow corrupted)

Intermittent recognition of the Trezor by Electrum is most of the time due to a (well documented) poor quality USB cable provided with the Trezor. Switching to a good quality USB cable fixes it.

Regarding balance not showing up, please refer to ThomasV post above.

Even with a good USB cable there can by some "funnies" with the communications between Trezor and Electrum, particularly if the Trezor is connected or disconnected while Electrum is running (this is on Windows 7). The solution when this happens is to unplug the Trezor, exit Electrum, wait 30 seconds or so, and then reconnect Trezor and restart Electrum.

I have no idea how to diagnose this problem is it doesn't happen often and I haven't been able to cause it to repeat predictably, nor do I know what diagnostic logs (if any) I should be looking at.  For all I know it could just be an unrelated random system glitch on my Windows machine and not actually have anything to do with Trezor or Electrum.

I post this only so that if other people are experiencing similar problems some insight on this might be found that can lead to improvement.  In the general scheme of computer and Bitcoin frustrations this is not a big issue, IMO.
