A BBC web article http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-19633980 has an interview with Bitfloor manager Roman Shtylman about the  resent heist. Their conclusion being that the robbers have not yet spend or moved the coins.

If the press can get across that Bitcoin is trackable and hard to get away with, it will attract another kind of customers, being more trackable than paper money serial numbers.

Maybe something good will come out of the resent line of thefts, if the community, and as mentioned in the article, the FBI, puts in the effort.
