I was going to buy some BTC through MTGOX but I miscalculated now I don't have enough to buy 3 BTC. Will anybody please sell me some bitcoins? I have $28.8 in MTGOX.

You can buy any fraction of bitcoins at mtgox, currently $ 28.8 will buy you aprox. 2.328 btc
If you don't own the private keys, you don't own the coins.

Oh, I see now. You have to edit the dollar field, what I was doing is trying to edit the BTC field which doesn't allow decimals. Thanks.
