Reid Hoffman: Why the block chain matters

At least one global cryptocurrency will achieve mass-market adoption. That cryptocurrency will either be Bitcoin or a derivative inspired by it. The chance that it will be the former is so strong that in 2014 I invested in Bitcoin startups Xapo and Blockstream. And yet, perhaps surprisingly, when one of the very smart people I know in Silicon Valley recently told me he's a major "Bitcoin sceptic" who has not yet seen "many real use cases" for the technology, I considered it a good sign.

On a second note, these section rarely see any discussion of the content of the article published: Should such discussion, although they appear at times, have their own thread or is it ok for the debaters to post in this section?

most people miss / dont read alot of very valuable press about bitcoin. they only focus on the price but dont understand the BTC beauty. but knowlege is power. make your own choice

That is so true! The majority is still focusing just on the price. I always have a good read the articles LiteCoinGuy is linking here.
The best at least for me is, I know you always find the most important articles and newest vids so I safe a lot of time of searching for it myself.

I'm a huge fan of the press section here, I simply don't always have anything of value to add. This is a pretty good article, but it's like a lot of the press BTC is seeing these days... They need an angle to sell the story and blockchain tech is it. I can only hope these pieces get read and eventually sink in at the consumer level.

As for Wired magazine... Hate to say it but they maybe have an image of being complimentary regarding tech (they are a tech mag) and therefore maybe not the most objective. Still, as far as tech news goes, they seem to be the authority.

I'm wondering how long these "blockchain will revolutionize everything" stories take to actually affect the price.
