There is already a thread called "Do girls use Bitcoin on webcam sites?" (link) which seems to have received quite a lot of responses and feedback so I wouldn't say it's completely pointless.

I would think that this would be easy to detect as long as some sort of chat option is available. Simply asking the person to do something that would otherwise not normally be done (e.g. writing a specific phrase on a piece of paper or simply waving their hands) would make it pretty obvious whether the feed is live or not.

EDIT: After reading the responses in the other thread, it's apparent that most webcam sites are of a sexual nature. Most webcam feeds require you to turn on JavaScript and/or Flash which could leak your IP address and your real world location even if you are behind a proxy or using Tor. Also, Bitcoin is not anonymous but instead pseudonymous and that's true even if you don't re-use addresses and use change addresses properly. Perhaps a coin with a more robust anonymity mechanism such as Darkcoin or Monero might be more suited for this kind of market.

yes, we don't need to use bitcoin in such kind of websites. But whatever currency you are using, Bitcoin and Fiat money, they are all suited for such kind of deals. Personally I am against such kind of deals.

I personally don't. Also I don't think there is not enough people in the bitcoin community that would make a site a success. The big mainstream sites should add bitcoin as a payment option then more people might be interested. That's just my opinion.

I'm sure they would if the site accepts bitcoin as payment.  Boys (and girls) will pay with bitcoin for a lot crazier and off-the-wall things then just webcam sites.  A lot of webcam sites are free anyways... okay I know I'm sure the 'good' ones aren't free.

I do not think it should be encouraged for any "boy" to use any kind of porn site or to be on a porn site. There are laws against these type of things.

I think, she uses the term "boys", because most people use the term "girls" when referring to females, even if they mean adults.
It is by the way, the same in German. That's just one of this subtle sexiest things in our everyday use of words.

There is another hilarious example in German, most German-speakers are not even aware of. The word "dämlich", means literally lady-ish, but is used as "stupid", where as the word "herrlich" literally means gentleman-ish and is used as "great".
(I sometimes call my girlfriend "Meine Dame"/"My lady" when she has said or done something stupid and she knows exactly, how I mean it )
