hi there i found below instructions wondering if these settings have to be added in altcoin.py file or the bittcoin.py?

you are searching something like this? https://github.com/Neisklar/p2pool-quarkcoin

this is for quark, but it should work for any alt, just change the algo, in the end you should only setup your node, because p2p isn't centralized
