The recent post, 'Bitmain's Marketing Staff is Brilliant!' by fukuda is a scam!

It links to coindesk.news, instead of the real site (coindesk.com) with a fake article, which then links to bitmaintec.com, instead of bitmaintech.com.

On that site you can 'buy' these 'vouchers' and never see your money again (I imagine - there would be no reason for phishing to this depth if it were legit)

These are the addresses they used:

https://btc.blockr.io/address/info/18gP5ahmxzcLx6q8fJUctGbwMDJAAsmXxo (there is 1.78 btc in here, so someone may have already been scammed, or perhaps it was put there by the scammers to supposedly seem legitimate)

But look at address two: https://btc.blockr.io/address/info/1K79c7ywY4JmqCeS3cXRrnbgV9hg65ASKh
There is nothing in there, and it is for the 8.92 BTC 'voucher', which is more expensive than the 1.78 BTC one. This means the transaction on the other address wasn't a fake to gain supposed legitimacy! It was a successful scam! Someone has lost 1.78 BTC

https://btc.blockr.io/address/info/1NEYdE4etqwKyEyQdx6aVz2AfdUfNa2m91 - nothing in this wallet either, confirming that Someone has been scammed with an irreversible transaction to the tune of almost $500!

I have messaged the moderators. Tell people as soon as possible, everywhere! We can't let the scammers win!

EDIT: Here's what you can do! Keep replying to this post to keep it right on top. We need people to see this, even if they only see the title, long before they see the scam thread!

Update: Mods have removed it.

Both of the addresses take me to a namecheap parking page, can you pm me the site names if you don't want to post it public
And if you are sure in your story, maybe you should move this to scam accusations, but it doesn't surprise me, since there's a ton of bitcoin related scams.

cheers

Going to coindesk.news directly doesn't work, but if you follow the link in the scam thread you'll find the 'article', which links to bitmaintech.com

that user was spamming threads (I counted 18) all over the place. it's obvious that he's trying something funny.

and
That article he is posting is fake. The domain is not the real coindesk and the article links to a fake bitmain domain that will try to scam you by selling fake coupons/vouchers.

and
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=288024

and this thread should be moved to the scam accusation.  Tongue
