I have a question about Bitstamps EUR/USD rates because i am a little confused...

(Rates can be found here : https://www.bitstamp.net/api/eur_usd/)

If i make a wire transfer of lets say € 500,00 does bitstamp use the buy or sell rate;

Sell : € 500 * 1.1045 = $552,25
Buy : € 500 * 1.1149 = $557,45

What my thoughts are :

When you deposit € they take the buy rate, when you withdraw they take the sell rate because

Deposit in EUR you buy USD
Withdraw you sell USD for EUR

When you deposit € they take the buy rate, when you withdraw they take the sell rate. Yes. That is the spread and their way in making money.

So was right thank you.

This means if you use euro to deposit, 1 bitcoin on bitstamp is now $265.49 / 1.1209 = € 236,85
