What is Shadowcash anonymous token vs non-anonymous token? Confused.

I saw this in the FAQ section of the Shadow website, "
Will both tokens be used in the market or only the anonymous token?
Both can be used."

This suggests a dual cryptcurrency system within a system. I am guessing that some "tokens" or shadowcash will be viewable on the blockchain? While other "tokens" or shadowcash will be anonymous? I want to buy and use the anonymous tokens. How do I get those?

For example, if I were to use shapeshift.io to buy shadowcash, will those "tokens" be the anonymous ones or the non-anonymous ones?

Confused. Please clarify.

Currently, ShadowCash (SDC) refers to the public coin. This is traded on exchanges and such.

You destroy your ShadowCash to create ShadowTokens, which are essentially zero knowledge proofs of ownership. These are the anonymous tokens.

So, when you trade on an exchange, it is shadowcash (not anonymous), but when you spend it, it is still shadowcash? It only becomes anonymous shadowtokens if you spend it, as in, if I were to pay you to sell me your boots, when I click "pay" it would automatically convert my shadowash to shadowtokens? Or would it stay shadowcash even when I spend it like that because...

it only convert to anonymous shadowtokens if I were to spend it in their future shadow marketplace only?
