Letter of Guarantee

Hi there.
3 days ago I mixxed some bitcoins using "bitmixer.io" which got very good reviews. I also made great experience with it. However the coins I mixxed the last time never arrived at the receivers address.  And I am 100% sure I was not on a fake page.
Of course I got the letter of guarantee so I contacted the support. But they told my they weren't able to verify my letter of guarantee. How is that possible?! And is there any solution for this?

How do I verify the Letter of Guarantee?
In your bitcoin wallet select File->Verify Message or Tools->Verify Message, paste our address 1BitmixerEiyyp3eTLaCpgBbhYERs48qza, Letter of Guarantee as a message and digital signature. Click Verify. Most of web wallets also allow to verify signed messages.

Can you tell me if you come up with a positive result? If not you were most likely phished.

No positive results at all. It says "Error: unable to verify".
And the support was not able to help me as well.

So I got something like hacked or just visited a bad link? Even if I used the same link as every time.

Just to make sure you made it correctly. Here's a screenshot on how to do it.

Paste every component without their start/end flags.

A single space/missed character ANYWHERE will break everything.

Yes I did it several times in many many different forms and also as you described it. But the Error messages keeps coming.

What I also found very strange was the date in the "-----START LETTER OF GUARANTEE-----" section. It says April but I mixed them a few days ago......

I used this "duckduckgo" search engine in tor to get on the bitmixer.io webpage and clicked on the very first link.
So is it possible that it actually was a bad link?

Yes this is the usual way people get phished on Tor . Never trust search engine links, always trust the official Tor mirror (bitmixer2whesjgj.onion), this link can be found in the original service announcement thread.
The phishing site probably doesn't generate a letter and just makes you download an old one from April, which weirdly, is still not valid.

For future reference, the Letter of Guarantee acts as a safeguard against phishing. Verify it before depositing any bitcoins.

Verify the date and addresses in the letter too.

Why don't you post the letter of guarantee that you received so others can at least take a look at it to confirm if it actually validates or not?

If you used tor then there is a good chance that you landed on a phishing site, however without first confirming if the letter of guarantee verifies or not, it is not possible to say either way

some times people by mistake set a certain delay which might be a reason of why the coins didn't show up yet. but that might not be the case if you got phished via tor.

Damn it. Just deleted the letter some hours ago. But I am pretty sure by now I used a phishing page.
From now on I will use "bitmixer2whesjgj.onion" only!!
I am glad I got phished because I only lost a small amount of bitcoins. It would have bothered me more if they would have got away with more money.

I hesitated asking OP to post his letter considering that he was probably using bitmixer to keep his anonymity. The letter contains outgoing addresses.

That is too bad. It would have contained unarguable evidence that either bitmixer scammed you or that you simply made a mistake......Do you happen to still have the URL of the website you visited (perhaps in your history?)

If he was using Bitcoin properly, then he would have used a fresh address for bitmixer to send to, all all that would be leaked is an "empty" address that he should not use in the future.

It seems it is fixed now. But even though that search engine is small, i believe many fell for it. I mean who awaits something like that happening? The scammers are probably rich now when you consider that mostly high amounts are sent there.

Wow it baffles me that a phishing site can actually get first place at those search engine results
