Hi, I have a question that can be superficially stupid but can be "interesting".
Bitcoin Blockchain can work off line?!?
Hypotesis... A send 1 btc to B (escrow)
A can use in a "system" (like a game, or a festival, small country etc) where him give a token, like the ancient money, with the nominal value of btc.
Obviously there is the big problem from the scam token, false, damage or disrupting.:
I know It can be sound likewise stupid, but if some one can't access to a "connection", can't "spend" btc!
Imagine a system where you can also easy spend you btc also off line!
There is something like this?
thank you
When you say "offline" are you saying off the blockchain or literally not connected to the internet?
If you are saying off the blockchain, then yes, it happens with exchanges and some games.
That is also a theory with some sidechain implementations. A user would get a token to trade, but can convert back to btc.
If you are saying literally off the internet, then it is not possible to transfer your btc. But can sign messages or etc.
To physically trade btc for "token" in a offline manner, you would need a clearinghouse (bank?) that would exchange it for you.
But then that would basicly just be you giving your btc to get fiat, and then hand back the fiat to get btc.
