Just like someone could attack Bitcoin by owning more then 50% of the network hash, could you also defend it?

Hypothetically speaking:
If I were to own more then 50% of the hashing power on the network, could I prevent anyone else from attacking Bitcoin? Or perhaps two people each owning a little more then 25% to guard the blockchain.

Sorry, I'm not well versed in the 51. Thought I'd ask anyway.

If majority of hashing power decides to screw with blockchain it cant prevent it. Minority cant outvote majority. If it would be possible then minority would also be able to attack Bitcoin.
