Hello guys,

I have bought an antfarmer Asic s5, second hand. I have connected to source and to my router. Everything looks fine but i cannot find its ip, its seems that my router does not recognize him. I have tried with ipscan24 and same results. The aferent led from the router work fine, same as the leds on the miner. Also i have restared the router and the farmer few times with no favorable results. Also i have changed the router ip from .168.100.x to .168.1.x. I dont know what to do... Do you have any suggestion? It might be a incompatibility problem? Should i try with a different router? I have a router HUAWEI HG8245H...
The seller tells me that it shouldnt be any problem and if we dont fix this one he will replace it. I am not sure what to think... What is the most common issue on Asic S5?

tnx

Well you could ask seller what it's old IP was.   That is easiest one.   If not you will need to scan and find the IP, or a reset.   So a few way's to find it.

Is your first S5 have a static or dhcp IP?

Are you able to log in to your router and see the ip address's of all connected hardware?

Usually you can log in through your router using 192.168.1.1 or something similar.

Download and run up the Advanced IP Scanner.

http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/

It should find the Miner.

Two off the top of my head are one ask seller what IP was.... chances are they know and this will help you solve this.

Other is reset and do it that way. Someone else pipe in please if they can think of better way.

Well you could restart router and plug in S5 first to get it the static IP.   And turn on other's after (I'm assuming they are DHCP).  So they should take other IP's.

Other option is connecting to S5 to computer if you can handle connection sharing and get in that way.

And third my lease favorite is a complete reset. I just don't like having to reset but it is a option.

If it was a Miner I had owned for some time I agree. However for a second hand unknown Miner I think a reset is no bad thing to do.

It is a valid option.  Possibly quickest option most likely.   If OP does this make sure you have a solid electricity connection.

You do not want to loose power during the reset.   Could lead to bad things.

Glad you got it sorted. You might let us know what the IP was in the end and how you found it, as that then helps others?

I have always found Advanced IP Scanner http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/ very useful. It finds devices, and names them, even when they are in a different sub net than the one you have selected.

After i tryed your options, i called the seller to help me to reset it, and he helped me to find the ip: i moved the cable on lan2 position (LAN1 is my pc) to router and the i tryed 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4 - that last one was the one... Smiley
it was that easy, now, after i opened it using its user and pass i can see it in router status as Hewlett Packard Company. and the seller told me that he tryed also with advanced ipscan with no results when he first bought the antminer.

thank you once again, Smiley
