This was not easy - I spent 6 hrs working on it, and I got bupkiss.
Removed internet from the router (my IP was 192.168.5.1), rebooted, set to static ip 192.168.1.1, pc was set to 192.168.1.101. REBOOTED
Modified the router to allow for ip addresses of 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.255 REBOOTED
Attempted to go to 192.168.1.254:8000 - nothing - thats what I got.
On my defense, I did notice something a little strange, okay, a few things.
1. The ethernet connections between router and cube showed no indicator lights, while other devices did. Tried changing ethernet cables - 6 different ones). 2. The two power indicators on the Cube were dimmed and no status light. (Did I mention I had this working before?)
I also tried the trick of plugging the pc ethernet directly into the cube. But this gave unusual results. Checking 'ipconfig/all' showed that my normal ethernet connection to be disabled, and had NO ip address. But this is what I got:
LAN2 Description . . . . . . . . . . . : TAP-Windows Adapter V9 Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-FF-E8-0A-C1-29 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::5ddd:c732:70f3:5cde%14(Preferred) IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 169.254.123.209(Preferred) Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : LAN (disconnected) Description . . . . . . . . . . . : NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet <--- This is my network card
I can provide whatever information you may need to help me figure this out.
