Bitcoins not showing up in wallet

I recently transferred some BTC's from localbitcoins.com to my android wallet. Waited ages on several different internet connections and still didn't receive them. Checked on blockchain.info and said they were in the address and had gone through. After this i uninstalled the app, reinstalled it and imported my backup, still nothing except now it says "Synchronizing with network, 8 weeks behind". My internet connection is perfectly fine except i have no peers connected to me on the network monitor. I also have root access if any such settings need to be changed or looked at.

Can you post the txn here? I had the same problem before when I was waiting my coins to get confirmed. It won't show on my wallet. Have you checked the confirmation yet?  It took me 24hours or more to get my coins and I did some push on the miners to be able for them to notice my txn.

Bitcoins eventually came through so I'm happy, still unknown what caused this. Thanks for the replies though.
