Poloniex, unlike many crypto exchanges operates in the United States of America.

But does this mean it is free from corruption?

Is the Poloniex a clean, honest and friendly exchange?

yes, i just edited my comment.
do you still remembered poloniex before etherieum? it is rank among yobit and bter, not bittrex, cryptsy or mintpal. any exchange can be the next poloniex if they can afford to fake pump it hard. i mean hard with 1 other point.
heck, poloniex withdrawal at this point is fuck up nonsense, with their non-existent fake verify. bittrex can easily take it place if it know how. i don't like vietcong people like richie so i don't want to make any hint for him/them  Grin 1 very important point bittrex can be instant #1 but i don't want to make any hint.

Back in 2013 Polniex lost some BTC to a "hacker". I lost a small amount.
Busoni (the owner) paid all the coins back quite quickly as he earned them from operating the exchange. That is a fact.

I'm not so sure about poloniex.
It happened before that suddenly an exchanger went belly up.
Personally I use yobit.
That has always been a reliable partner.

Yobit is a real scam. They were trading Waves even before it was possible to withdraw them from the ICO. That was very dirty.

That and the rise only coin bulshit and on site gambling. Yes, that screams trust.

That and from what I remember a lot of people, my self included, donated what was owed because at the time, polo was the best exchange out there.

Only bad thing I can say about the place now is when it gets laggy, IT GETS LAGGY! I also understand they are pretty much under constant DDoS's though. Growing pains.

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam
Read It. Hate It. Change the facts that it represents.

i beleive that any exchange can turn into cryptsy at any point so there is no exception in this case either.

but about their corruption, of course they are corrupt. i have seen many shady things from them to let me beleive in this especially the numerous stunts they have pulled about ethereum from the start of its release to keep it up.

Buying the dip...

I think it boils down to your definition.
You may have noticed people will literally do or say anything in crypto ..to make a dollar $$$

Then they *try* and justify that behavior.
And most of you go along with it so long as you make a small slice of profit.
Then you co-opt them and turn a blind eye etc.

What is acceptable behavior ?
You will get a wildly different answer depending on who you ask.

And by the way Poloniex is a centralized exchange BUSINESS set up to make money.
Not be your fucking friend  Roll Eyes
..or support the Crypto scene.

For example..
Cryptsy did a far better job at avoiding a lot of shitty scammy ICO or Clone coins
then Bittrex + Poloniex ever did.
Those other two were more than happy to add them and make money off them.
Regardless of the overall long term consequences of their actions.

Professional ? No  Cheesy
I Was harassed before and the staff joined in..
Then they had the nerve to say i was an asshole & i deserve it.
So i said why ?
They said because of comments i posted on this forum.
I said what does that have to do with my behavior on the chat-box ?
The dumb fuck MOD apologized to me ..then ended up doing it again many times later.  Roll Eyes

They basically let you lie and scam / hype & cheat on their Troll box
But if you criticize it you will be banned... do not screw with their victims they are grooming.

They are also cocky deceitful and plain stupid.
One of them lied to me while i was saying the Crypto scene had died off since late 2013
The idiot MOD proclaimed Poloniex has exploded and is 100x larger now etc
and that i was a liar & FUD'ing.. i told him i know i was here at Polo during the start..
Back when there was so many people talking 24/7 that if you commented ?
..no one would see it and it would scroll up & away in a second or two.
The chat box scrolled at Mach 2 with a shitload of people screaming non stop.
NOW ?

You can go ages with out hearing anything.
So the MOD is a moron and a liar.
He also told me he had no clue who BitJohn was and also said he was not even in Crypto earlier on with Polo.
Yet he "KNOWS" i was wrong LOL
This same dipshit bitch insisted i was a liar and i was FUD'ing and they had exploded in popularity
and compared to late 2013 they were doing 100x better in ALL aspects.
Then he banned me FUD'ing.

SO yeah lie, argue then ban the guy you are arguing with..
then call him an asshole and cite this forum as a reference (like cunticle JShock did with my 1 year Cryptsy chat ban)

THEN add 1,000000000000000000 SCAMMY SHITCOINS

PROFIT $$$

Trust worthy ?
I sure as hell wouldn't trust this crooked cunts.

They got hacked and paid it back ? DUH !
The owner had no planned on leaving yet..
Wait until he plans his exit game sand see if he pays it back.
Ever heard of Gox or Cryptsy ?
You all just looooooved to cheerlead for them LOL

So yeah Poloniex + Cryptsy banned me for comments here before..
and so did who ever is on the ETH freenode channel mod'ing.
So beware what you say here is grounds for harassment across crypto.
Keep your head down and slurp lots of cock if you wanna stay-unbanned in the scene  Cheesy

FUD first & ask questions later™

Cryptsy always treated customers like shit. The writing was on the wall with them. Poloniex has always done right by their customers. No comparison. Regarding Poloniex not being on the radar before ETH got listed: BULLSHIT. Many serious traders have been using Poloniex for years now because of excellent user interface and customer service and track record.

The safe answer is to not trust any exchange.  However, Poloniex is easy and convenient, and they've earned some stripes IMHO.  I've had zero problems with using Poloniex.  In fairness, I've had a few deposits get hung up and when I've emailed support about them (maybe 2 times in last year and half +), I get a response in under .5 hours and the problem gets fixed in that time as well.  Like with Cryptsy (who I also had no problems with, and stopped using them when writing on the wall was very clear a few months before their demise), it may help if you have a verified account.
