The pro-Russian Opposition Bloc will be represented in a total of 17 regions, despite not being allowed to campaign in their stronghold of Kharkov Oblast. OB has won the mayoral elections in a number of cities, including Slavyansk and Lisichansk. They are also leading in a number of other important cities, such as Krivyy Rog and Dnipropetrovsk.

Oh common, Opposition Bloc is not real, and everybody in Ukraine knows that. It's a puppet, government-controlled party which does nothing but empty talk. In the real life they're supporting junta in comprehensive manner.

Just for example, Obozrevatel daily and Inter TV channel, which are owned by this so-called "Opposition Bloc", are full of ridiculous propaganda. In terms of following the state narrative, these "opposition" media are even more crazy than Poroshenko's own TV channel. That's why turnout is extremely low, people know that there is simply nothing to choose.

I can't speak for the parties, the OB, the puppet government claims, etc, but an election is good.  Even a rigged election is better than dictatorship. A rigged election process can be fixed. It can be righted. This is a step in the correct direction, no?

Ukrainian men are reluctant to go to the election polls. In order to vote they will have to submit their passports with their ermanent address. If their addresses are taken and a new draft follows they will be oblidged to go to the frontline which they don't want.

Even a rigged election is better than dictatorship.

This is dictatorship. The only difference between "real" dictatorship and this "democracy" is wasted money. Honestly, I would prefer open dictatorship instead of observing how they're wasting my taxes to pay for this show.

The three successor parties (Opposition Bloc, Nash Kray, and Vidrozhennya) to the Party of Regions fared well, despite more than two-thirds of the pro-Russian voters boycotting the elections.

C'mon, open your eyes. They're worse, since Svoboda and Right Sector aren't presented on the media market. That's why "Opposition Bloc" made more to spread mutual hate and death in the Ukraine, than Svoboda & others will be ever able to do.
