This may be of no interest to some, but for those that it does, please feel free to comment.
My name is Alex.
I'm a teenager from London, UK.
I'm currently in my final year of school. Only got a few months left. (Joy, Sadness?)
I completed Economics A-level a year early, and i think i have quite a knack for it.
In addition to my A-levels, I'm working on a crowd funding project that I aim to get set up in the next 2-3 months.
Enough about me, here goes;

I begun using BTC a year ago, and as all noobs have, I lost my first few BTC in an unfortunate way. - But that's another story. Not one you'll be interested in hearing.
Well, back on topic, I'm posting here to give an update on certain goals that I have.

I have set myself personal goals to achieve by 31/07/2014.
They are:

- Removed -

I have already begun.
I will admit that I had a head start in both LTC and PPC, however, in the last 48 hours, I sold over 50% of my PPC and LTC to family.
So here is where i'm currently standing.

Based on my economic knowledge, I will try to shuffle my trading between the 3 above cryptos. I will use them to buy items to sell on and gain interest. I will also keep shifting them in circles to take advantage of the price differences (known as arbitrage). Additionally, I will offer services and exchange personal goods for the above cryptos.
I started off with - in cryptsy and since then, I doubled my portfolio to - on that account.
I will also confess that I am renting a LTC miner, so hopefully that will help me reach my LTC target as well.

My current standings as of 07/01/2014:

- (From Cryptsy and Bter trading)
- (From Buying and Mining. I hold more than that, but only 30 LTC now belongs to me)
- (Sold some whilst exchange was high)
- DOGE (Mined them early... Holding to see what I can do with them).
- MEOW (Same as DOGE)

I will keep this updated and let you know how it goes.
I aim to reach my goal by the above date. By doing so, I will learn more about the inside outs of BTC and other such cryptos as well as it giving me a good start financially for Uni and later early life Smiley

From here on out, I will not be spending any Fiat to buy the above cryptos. I will try and reach my goals the hard way...

If you are going to post, please be nice. I'm young and only aspiring high.
All advice will be much appreciated.

Many Thanks Smiley

Alex

UPDATE:

07/01/14
Sold some PPC reserves. Bought them at around $3 each.
-

UPDATE # 2:
12/01/14
Sold some DOGE bought at 21 satoshi for 39 satoshi.
Made a total of -
Current earnings stand:
-

UPDATE # 3:
19/01/14
Made a loss in BTC with a failed trade.
-

Update # 4:
25/01/14
Been seeing great progress in DOGE.
I sold 500k which only got me around - (had I sold it a day later I'd have made over  - I know... A bad mistake).
So with that, I stand at:
-.

Not too bad. Moving there slowly, but progress is progress Smiley

Sounds good to me, it's always nice to have these targets, which there there to be smashed of course!

Economics can serve as a useful tool when trading for sure, but I think that ultimately good trading comes down to smart moves in the market i.e. never going all in etc. Best asset is having a big pair of bull balls when required.

Mate, the amount of coin I would have made had I only the balls to click the buy button, rather than back down. We've all been there though.

Good luck in working towards your target, I will undoubtedly follow your progress. Don't be afraid to report any losses, sometimes a loss is necessary hit a bad/foolish trade, call it breakage, in order to facilitate a more fruitful short trade.

That's a great way to go about things. Best of luck hitting your targets!

I too have set targets by trading on Cryptsy and am moving in the right direction.

Good luck  Smiley

In case on your test they ask what arbitrage is make sure you choose instantaneous risk free profit rather than moving stuff around in circles to get money. Good luck.

Updated again. Annoyed at my DOGE sale timing but what's done is done.
I'm relying on ZET, MEC, and MEOW now.

My oh my.
I completely forgot about this thread.
Well, it's been a long time since, but let's see what goals I've met...

I stopped trading most alts following a few consecutive losses. Although they weren't big, they were relatively disruptive to my plan. However, I slowly began to buy more BTC and LTC when I had some spare funds available. I haven't used Bter since they were hacked, so in all honesty, I haven't a clue what my balances on there are.

As of today, I can say that I managed to surpass both my BTC and LTC targets (LTC being quite significantly more).
I still hold a small amount of DOGE and Ripple (XRP) but that's basically it.

With regards to my £x target, we're not there yet, but I feel that if I were to cash in on some 'assets' that I've accumulated that figure may be in reach.

In the meantime, I've also managed to launch a successful business (despite it taking one to fail). I'm also currently working on another project at the same time, so overall I'd say I'm pretty happy where I am...

I commend you for remembering this thread and giving a status update to what has happened since and that your projects are doing well.
It's a good time to have acquired more assets seeing the recent rallies best of luck in the future as well Smiley

Just saw this thread, since it got bumped a few times.
Great historical stuff, AT. I assume you still hold physical coins?
