IS THIS A GLITCH? https://blockchain.info/address/1GybvzB8d1cZAtySZCjMBr4RrwsYVQg8dY"Warning! this bitcoin address contains transactions which may be double spends. You should be extremely careful when trusting any transactions to or from this address." Does this mean that someone has STOLEN from me if I havn't been double spending. If so, I am with COINBASE so only they will lose money (right?) Thank you

Thank you I am not sure what that is, but i dont see any warning message, but what i see is that you or someone else made many transactions to your account... I don't think your funds are stolen. The only way it can be stolen is either through your private key or they have the password of your account.

Why this thread is in the meta section ? #reported. Is this a suitable spot? Or should it go under technical discussions? Thank you. (If you feel I put a topic in the wrong place, feel free to PM me instead of reporting straight to the moderators, they have enough work to do, don't give them extra work when you can just ask me to move it and... I will!)

(If you feel I put a topic in the wrong place, feel free to PM me instead of reporting straight to the moderators, they have enough work to do, don't give them extra work when you can just ask me to move it and... I will!) Service discussions, but it has already moved (blockchain.info is a service, NOT THE BLOCKCHAIN!!!) Back to topic: It is highly likely that some of the transactions to or from that address were malleated transactions. This means that two transactions with two txids but have THE SAME INPUTS AND OUTPUTS (meaning that no coin could be stolen) were created and sent. They will register as double spends since there are two txids that spend the same inputs, even though the outputs are also the same. This is possibly a result of the recent transaction mealleability attack or that your client created transactions with the now non-standard High S signatures and was malleated by someone to become the now standard Low S signature.

Blockchain.info is full of these glitches and they are happening more and more and people are opening endless threads about blockchain.info lately. So if you don't want to mess with these type of problems and you actually want to save your bitcoins with even more security, you should think about changing the wallet and ditch blockchain.info and all online wallets once and for all. Just install Multibit or Electrum and you'll be fine.

...and all online wallets once and for all.
Well, not all online wallets are too bad. Xapo has a pretty good reputation, I think. Yes, the whole idea of entrusting your bitcoins to a third-party website is pretty bad, but not all have as many problems as blockchain.info. But switching to a wallet software would be a lot more preferable, yes. I myself used online wallets before downloading Electrum.

The double spending could have been unintentional. It isn't accurate at all and people shouldn't be looking on it. With the recent transaction malleability attacks, many transactions were displayed twice and the server interpreted them as a double spend attempt.
Blockchain.info have been extremely unreliable and provided inaccurate information in this case by assuming addresses to be double spending when it is a attack on the entire network. They didn't really care about this issue and have displayed a negative balance on several addresses on different occasions.

Other online wallets are not as bad because they are buggy as blockchain.info, but because we should all take care of our bitcoins and be in control of them, and not let some other third party service doing this for us. But yes, other online wallets, apart from the blockchain.info are actually not buggy at all and they are working as designed.

Its because of the malleabilty attack due to which fake transactions come in the address transaction list due to which balance gets ovebalance or underbalanced. Dont worry its not a glitch,, it will soon be fixed once blockchain staff members get it removed manually

Most probably it is double spend being detected but there are no issues, they are going to handle it their own way.

I'm pretty sure OP hasn't said it is, he has only said that this is a potential glitch in blockchain.info.

I'm pretty sure OP hasn't said it is, he has only said that this is a potential glitch in blockchain.info. Sorry! I moved this my self to the blockchain discussion not realising that it was about blockchain. I now realise I should have put it into service discussions.
