Hi BitCoinTalkers

I got a old System with an HIS Radeon HD 4670 AGP Card and i want to mine some Bitcoins. (Just for Fun i know it wont be very efficient)
I already did(at ~40 MHash) but then i needed the system for testing purposes and reinstalled it.
My Problem is, i cant get it to work. The fact my card is an AGP HD 4xxx series makes it hard to set up the miner.

What did i already try?

Ubuntu Install 12.10 with legacy drivers -> Not working
Win 7 64 Bit install with AGP Hotfix(newest) and AMD APP SDK 2.7(newest) -> Not working

The Problem is the GPU is not display as a miner (poclbm on ubuntu//GPU Caps Viewer on Win7).

What drivers do i have to install?
There must be some old driver set up that works because it worked in the olddays Wink

Try with AMD APP SDK 2.5 included with Catalyst 11.7 to 11.11. If using Ubuntu, use 12.04 or even 10.04 with older Catalyst drivers.

Here is a guide for Xubuntu 12.04: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Gw7YPYgMgNNU42skibULbJJUx_suP_CpjSEdSi8_z9U/edit?pli=1
Ubuntu 11.04: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7514.0
Ubuntu 10.04: http://superkuh.com/bitcoin.html

From experience, latest Ubuntu release, SDK and drivers is not always the easiest to setup. So use exactly the same version of Catalyst/SDK used in the tutorial you follow.

I'm not sure what mining program you are using but have you tried GUIminer?
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/GUIMiner.shtml

For me it just worked out of the box (HD4870).

Or you could try old versions of your ATI drivers from this website

I'm pretty sure you can use Bitminter.com for mining on this card.  I've tried mining with a 4xxx radeon card and it did work for me.
