Why Litecoin and Namecoin?

LTC and NMC are the only two e-coins that I consider somewhat of a success, but how can LTC be called a success if it is only selling for 7 cents per LTC and NMC doesn't even have an official wallet program.

When a universal wallet becomes available, these two coins better be above a dollar at least.

Why do they have to be above a dollar? Isn't the whole idea of the bitcoin community based on the ideals of a free market?

Namecoin did not do well because most are happy with current dns system or other underground options. Squatters did not help either.

Litecoin is another alt setup that came too late. People are jaded now towards them. To be better then bitcoin will take some serious thought, development, and programming skills.
