Answer is simple you can prevent Bots and bad users .
If you create a xapo faucet force users to claim with only email. So if a user have xapo account he'll get his bits but if he don't have xapo account (or don't claim in 7 days) then your satoshi will be refunded after 7 days.
it's very easy to create many btc keys so people easily cheat although emails also can be generated but it's not possible to create unlimited xapo accounts .
so people should create xapo faucet instead faucet box.
