Hey I'm going to do a raspberry project, my TV will plug into my pi and my Pi will be vpn-ing to America so I can watch hbo, anyone done something like this before?

It's really easy to stream things now without VPN.

 First, look up a guide on YouTube for setting up Kodi (formerly XBMC) and 2nd get the USTVNOW repository.

You can watch live TV that way. I'd suggest you look up how to download "install fusion add on for Kodi" so you can stream tons of recorded shows.
