the smaller pools have a much higher cost per mined coin, that's right. the pools that will quit (temporarily) will cause the difficulty to go down as is happening right now. but the lower difficulty will attract other miners or existing farms to up their game by adding more hashing power to the network. in the meanwhile miners can benefit from the lower going difficulty. i however think it won't take very long before we see the difficulty go up again.

Supply is now not about coins to be mined (25% of all coins), but about these already mined (75% of all coins). If whales start pushing the price down, weak hands will start to bleed.

well you might be right, they always want to buy bitcoins on low prices to make as much profit as possible, though i hope the price will only grow
