Any way to get BTC back from an unused wallet?

I used a website to sell some BTC (https://bit29.com/sy/web/) it seemed legitimate and was top of the search results on yahoo. I sent 2.45 BTC to an address provided by the site yet recieved no money. I can see from blockchain that it is sat in a wallet and has not been touched. Is their any way to get my BTC back? Or to track down who might own that wallet ID? 

I did notice that when you put in a sell order and clicked to proceed on the website it gave a different BTC address to send the coins to each time.

Anyone any suggestions?

without the private key there is no way to recover those coins, see them as a lost coins

You should probably research the site before sending any money to it.There is no way to get your coins back without the private keys or the wallet owner sends it back.You should,sadly,chalk this up as a lesson and move on.Sorry for your losses OP

What are the private keys?. Sorry if that is a bone question. If it's the wallet address I sent it to then I have it. Annoyingly I can see on block chain the BTC are still there and not touched or claimed. That's crazy that this can happen.

The private key is what allows you to spend bitcoin. Your wallet software/service handles them for you and they are usually protected by your password. When you send bitcoin to someone else you can not reverse the transaction. Thats a fundamental bitcoin principle.

All you can do now is hope they are indeed legit and contact their support.

I think you can post the transaction details which you sent, the transaction is not reversible that is the main concept of Bitcoin. once sent is sent. You have to wait or just send the transaction details to that site and report the problem with them. If they are legit site they will reply you with the details. If not then just think that you got scammed and learn a lesson that without enquirying about any site dont do any type of transaction like this.

Oh wow did you just sold your BTC to illegitimate site? Aside from exchanges sites and trading site, there's no other legit way to sell BTC online. Please use google next time and research more about Bitcoins.

you should have search about some honest feedback about this site before sending any transaction to them. there is no charge back in bitcoin once the transaction get confirmed
and Why did you use yahoo search ?! google search would give you more accurate results

How can you just send such an amount to a website which is completely unknown???
If you were to exchange, there were many you might have used in order to do so...
Anyways, there is no way you can get your coins back because you have sent them on your own...
You should have contacted them before sending in order to verify whether they were trustworthy or not...

I don't think there are possibilities to get it back as you have clearly accepted to transfer to some unknown bitcoin address. This is the point where everyone should be very careful while selecting the trader for buying or selling. Before trade need to know about the clear history of the trader along with trust percentage provided by users

If that site is really legitimate, it means something wrong with their system. I'm sure every exchange will move bitcoin as soon as they accept it.
But, when i searched about this site on google. I couldn't find any information about this site, so i think this site is scam.

I've never heard of it either.  OP how did you find this site even?  I'm curious as to how you came to it as I think you would have found much better options when searching.

But since you sent coins... no if site is bad nothing you can do to get it back.  Sending BTC is not reversible.

There's some contact info on their page here: https://bit29.com/sy/web/contact see if you can call them up and maybe just maybe they're legit and you get your coins back. But I doubt it and in which case I would suggest you post this in scam accusations section with proofs, so others can be saved.
