I read reviews and good things about mSIGNA wallets.  I wasn't aware of the complexity of using one.  I procured some bitcoins off of the localbits trade market and from there attempted to send them to my new mSIGNA wallet.  I used the mSIGNA address that the mSIGNA recieve transaction produced, but they did not arrive.  A while later I realized that my wallet was not communicating to the network, and that was likely the reason that the transaction was not successful.  I've since learned how to gain a localhub network access for the wallet, but the transaction remains unspent on the block board.  How can I retrieve these bitcoins?  I do have the pass words and keychain, etc.  Please help.

I have never used nor know how mSIGNA works, but you should be able retrieve your coins
from the address if you have the private key. Can you access the private key from that wallet?

Yes.  This was the first transaction I attempted (ever) using bitcoin.. So, in mSIGNA I opened one vault and created one "receive" transaction, and one keychain.  I still see the keychain code and did write down the words-pass phrase. Yes.

Yes.  This was the first transaction I attempted (ever) using bitcoin.. So, in mSIGNA I opened one vault and created one "receive" transaction, and one keychain.  I still see the keychain code and did write down the words-pass phrase. Yes.

Few questions:
1. Can you now see the bitcoins you sent to your "receive address" in your mSIGNA wallet?
2. Have you looked up your mSIGNA address on a blockexplorer to see if your funds are there?
3. Is your bitcoins you wanted to send to mSIGNA, returned to your localbits trade market address?
4. Is your mSIGNA wallet now communicating with its network and working correctly?
5. What is your exact issue/problem you are having?
6. What do you mean by "retrieving unspent bitcoins on blockchain"?
7. Are you planning on continuing to use this wallet or move your bitcoins to a new one now?

Ultimately, you shouldn't worry because if you have you private key and information, we can fix this.
I just need to understand exactly what your issue is.

Edit: after doing some searching I found this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=937027.0
At the end, someone provides an answer to fix what may be your problem. Seems mSIGNA may be too advanced for new bitcoin users.
You need to download a new wallet called Multibit and in Multibit use the restore wallet option and import your mSIGNA wallet.
You can download the official Multibit directly from their site here: https://multibit.org/

Here is the quote in question:
This solution is not for OP but if someone lands into same trouble. One of my friends had same problem in past.

Here is the solution.

Install Multibit

Use restore wallet option

Enter the words (msigna wallet) and passphrase used if any.

Ignore the date

Multibit will import the wallet

That was a helpful information but at the wrong time

Firstly, thank you for your time and expertise.
Secondly, I found that exact advise and followed instructions, but to no avail. In the section where you are to enter the pass phrase, it won't except it with the (mSIGNA) typed in.  But with the entire pass phrase, and without the (mSIGNA) it says "verified" and then syncs.. BUt shows up as 0.00BTC after it all.  ANd the BTC still show as unspent outputs.  I'll go through your q's one at a time, and send this in the meantime.  TY again!

Thanks. But there are other people who are experts here, I am just trying to help as best as possible until they come along.

Just so you know, if 3MFszmvHe34xUjtEHTCfmnrzoJnPtMTi53 is your mSIGNA address, it says "unspent" because your bitcoins are there.
When a blockexplorer says "spent" or "unspent" what it is basically saying is the bitcoins have "moved" (spent) or are "unmoved" (unspent).
If that is the address you wanted your bitcoins to go to from localbits trade, then your bitcoins are safe in that address.

If you can get the privatekey for that mSIGNA address, you should be able to import the privatekey into Multibit and see your bitcoins.

Well.  I don't know what I am missing as to why it doesn't show in my mSIGNA wallet at all..?  And I did go through the Multibit import process, and it said "confirmed" and "syncing" but is still at 0.00BTC.  I'll try again.  I must be missing a critical step...?  ugh, growing pains.

According to the other thread I sent you, someone was claiming that in order to get mSIGNA to work properly,
you need to rely on other programs such as bitcoin-qt or change your connection node.

Here is a link for a different connection node for mSIGNA: http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/32314/how-do-i-use-msigna-without-the-standard-bitcoin-client

Yes with all things bitcoin related, it is important to do a lot of reading and research,
before doing anything important. Better safe than sorry.

You should try mSIGNA now and forget Multibit since if you get that working based on the above link,
then we can just send the bitcoins to Multibit or another wallet like Electrum, which should be better to learn on.

All good and sound advice, and heeded (hence-forth). The multibit is just finishing its syncing.. If it isn't showing I am using your link and trying that route directly.  I'll update this thread directly, but it may be ?? a bit.. depending on that download, sync, etc.  If you'd be so kind as to check back at your convenience I'd be greatly appreciative, of course.

No problem. Hopefully mSIGNA will work properly after getting a proper node to connect to.

you can only retrieve your bitcoins if you have private key of the address. if you don't know your private key the balance can't be retrieved as I know. I didn't used mSIGNA wallet but I think it works same.

Basically, mSigna wallet isn't for newbies at all(for sure). It's a complex wallet that does full blockchain syncing (which ultimately takes a long time). Without full blockchain syncing, you can't see the funds in your mSigna wallet AFAIK. Your wallet is currently downloading and verifying (syncing) the block chain & you'll see the transaction(funds/btc in your mSigna wallet) once it has downloaded it all. I'd entreat you to have forbearance & you should be fine.

I don't think you have understood what Op's problem is,neither you have provided a solution for it.What does private keys has to do with the unspent output for the transaction ?

@OP : If your wallet is synced with the network, your balance should be displayed. Please post the txid if possible.
Avoid msigna ,get a light weight client like Electrum.

Im not really 100% sure, but I think that if OP changes the network settings within mSIGNA
to connect to a separate node as stated in this link: http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/32314/how-do-i-use-msigna-without-the-standard-bitcoin-client,
then mSIGNA should not have to download anything or work with bitcoin-qt/core.

So by using someone else's node and connecting to them, you are outsourcing the blockchain data and storage
and mSIGNA should work like a SPV wallet.

Atleast that is what I'm hoping for, for the OP. Otherwise this will take some time.

Yep, that's possible as well but then they've to trust someone(find a trusted node). However, downloading (syncing) the blockchain is a one-time process & henceforth they don't have to trust a random node.

I'd like to conclude that downloading the blockchain (&/or running your own full node with the help of bitcoin core) is a way better option(choice) than to trust a random node IMO.

Yeah, mSIGNA needs a full node to connect to. Its the reason I never bothered with mSIGNA. OP can use one of mine if they want to (188.68.53.44 or 213.165.91.169) and think they can trust the node/me.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.
