The primary objective for Caricoin is to put people at the heart of all transactions. There is an integrated chat feature for communicating with other users. Moreover, mobile credit can be topped up through the Caricoin wallet anywhere within the Caribbean. Doing so creates an instant use case for Bitcoin in the region as well.

The Caribbean archipelago is a pretty important region for Bitcoin. They use the Caribbean Dollar, which in essence is a slightly more segregated version of the US dollar (the exchange rate is either hard-pegged or treated as the same currency, can't remember the specific details right now). The importance of the Caribbean as a hub for incorporation and tax havens, combined with it's physical proximity to the US and the extent to which the US seeks to control the Caribbean islands make for a perfect storm for Bitcoin. The peoples of the Caribbean have been all too aware of the covert role the CIA have played in keeping places like Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Haiti etc in a permanent cycle of debt, poverty, gang violence, political manipulation and general subterfuge.

The people of the Caribbean can make huge strides to rid themselves of one of the most important frameworks these imperialist, domineering aggressors rely on to play their tricks: stop using their money
