Probably too late to help but I would strongly recommend BitCore https://bitcore.io

The api is better and much faster, it is built on top of bitcoind too.

You can see the guide on starting a full node https://bitcore.io/guides/full-node/

For your storage requirements, for long term stability I would suggest at least a 100GB hdd or ssd. The ram should be enough unless you are doing very intensive transaction analysis or other high computing services

20 gb is not enough last time it took 60gb on my harrdisk about the ram it's enough.

do you use prune=600 ?

need this install too?

first need install bitcoind and after install BitCore or only BitCore?
