I sent some BTCs from MT Gox to my wallet (which hadn't just quite updated at the time). It's been a couple hours and the BTCs haven't appeared yet.  Also, they don't show up as "unconfirmed" which usually happens once the blocks have updated. Anyone know what is going on?  How do I get these thing?

Many Thanks in advance.

There is more to Bitcoin than bitcoins.

What edd said. Look up on blockchain.info or blockexplorer.com the transaction ID or the receiving address from your mtgox history.

They're there, in their room.

Possibilities:

You accidentally used the wrong address when telling MtGox where to send the bitcoin.  MtGox sent it exactly where you told them to, but not where you wanted them to. (Double check the transaction at MtGox, double check the address in the Wallet)

Your local wallet either hasn't actually finished updating all the blocks, or is somehow damaged/corrupted and unable to properly process the blockchain to see the transactions.  MtGox sent the bitcoin where you wanted it, but your wallet isn't able to see it. (In this case the transaction will almost certainly show up at blockchain.info or blockexplorer.com)

MtGox has encountered an error that has prevented them from sending the bitcoin.  They have not yet broadcast the transaction, or have accidentally broadcast an invalid transaction. (In this case the transaction will almost certainly not show up at blockchain.info or blockexplorer.com)

If the withdrawal transaction is seen on blockchain.info but has not yet confirmed, then just be patient.  There's nothing the Bitcoin-Qt client can do with it until it confirms anyway.

If it has confirmed and you still don't see it on your client, try manually launching the client and doing a -rescan.
