But it all depends on your electricity cost. As with the halving coming up, the majority of miners wont be profitable.

Since you are beginner, there are 2 important things to think about:
1. Electricity cost.
2. Bitcoin Halving.

Both affect a lot the calculation to be made if it's worth to mine. Because it may be cheaper to buy the Bitcoin and hold it than mine it.

it's better to wait for the moment, wait until the halving come to see if there will bereally a price increase, and if new asic will be released, then make your move safely

otherwise you are gambling two times

Before you start mining you need to consider the one of the enemy of the miners and that's electricity bills. First of all check the cost of the electricity in your nation or country, and then if think that you can afford the possible electricity that may cost if you start mining then you need to prepare for buying mining rig and then you need to join to a mining pool for a fast process of mining, joining in a mining pool is a profitable than solo mining because all of you in the mining pool will work together to mine bitcoin fast and then you share base on your hash power.

Well that is an understatement cause they don't know what they are getting into.
It might even cost you much more than what you put up to start to get into.
It is not worth it to get into mining as it is over saturated. Unless you get electricity for free like some countries I have heard offers to their citizens.
