its not quite how it works.. ive rma'd a couple cards purchased from newegg and they didnt need any proof at all.. they already knew where the serial numbers came from.


if your card hasnt been purchased from newegg it probably wont work.

if it was purchased from newegg the serial number is all you need..

I can confirm this, Newegg captures serial numbers for all items shipped that have one, motherboards, CPU, RAM, video cards, etc.. If it didn't come from them they will know it.

Ok thanks guys I was bypassing newegg and going straight to gigabyte I have had better luck with that in the past but I will try going through newegg.

FWIW they contacted me back and said that if I could provide a receipt then they would RMA but I bought from craigslist and he said that he didn't have one so I was just going to try and find one.

You don't need a receipt if you want to RMA directly with Gigabyte.

Did your capacitors burn out? Dead fan?

the fans are working great and it will boot up and display but when ever it start getting a load it it locks up.

Look for burnt capacitors around the VRM area.
